Well, we could wait for him to be back at full fitness, but then the transfer window would be closed.

I mean, this is a surprise. Their’s 3 ways to assess any signings.

1- the player. He’s a decent player for the level and versatile. He adds depth to a position where he’s needed.

2- the deal. Around £2.5 million. Probably about par.

3- the context. Feels a bit panicky. But I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt as maybe the rumours just didn’t get out.

I did hear a rumour we are scouting John Charles as he can play CF and CB, I mean he died in 2004, but they see it as do able, just need to get him up to speed and it's all good.

This would be my main worry,given that he had a groin op earlier in his career.
