The Prince won't sign any IraniansTwitter offering up Mansfield trading their ex Saints player Taffazoli iranian for Collins.
The Prince won't sign any Iranians, I assume that was predictive. He'll be shi'ite.
He's 6'5" so presumably he can head the ball, something our defence is currently incapable of doing at corners.
Never heard of him - get him signed.
I thought of him when I started this thread. He played against us at the Lane and looked ok, if not completely convincing. Big and strong, but also a bit cumbersome and takes a while to get up to top speed. He was at Southampton as a youngster.
No better than young Harrison surely?
Mansfield fans on this rumoured deal: http://www.stagsnet.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25359
McCarthy sounded like a real coupe when we got him and look how that's turned out. Big names aren't always the answer.Mmm, opinion seems a bit mixed. Doesn't seem like an immediate answer to our defensive troubles.
Basham is not first choice CB.The guy is a lot more composed on the ball and could fit in with Basham at the back . Would be a good swap for Collins , but the final say is Mr Clough brother . All about fans opinions , but saying that , i have only seen him play once.
UTB

why not sign this lad we must have had him watched got a good pedigree saints acadamy would,nt cost much and if collins goes in part exchange it gives collins an opportunity for a fresh start and at a level he will be able to cope with for a numberIt's not that he isn't a big name. There's a lot of talent in the league below and he's a young lad.
What puts me off is those views on the Mansfield board. They don't seem to be that impressed. A lot saying he's average and that he hasn't developed as well this season as they thought he would.
Just makes me slightly concerned about his ability to step up a level and make much difference if he's only doing ok in League Two.
Edit: To be fair there are others saying he's a real talent with lots of potential. It's a positive move even if he only acts as cover I suppose as Collins seems to have been completely frozen out and is a waste of a wage at the moment.

Oh great some bloke from Manfield is the answer. What is the question because if it's how do we stay marooned in league one perhaps that's the right anewer, otherwise we need proven quality and I'm afraid that doesn't come in the form of a swap deal for one of our elder statesmen.
Just a couple of things. We need proven quality for the level we're at,how many times do we have to say that.
Also,i personally think Mansfield would be getting by far the better deal out of the two clubs imho.
And finally,he played in a defence in which we scored two goals againstHow shit must they be,incidently one of the goals in that game scored by Butler
yes,our centre back, the other goal scored by the splinter boy McNulty.
no one is saying he,s the answer but is a good prospect with collins not involved any more .clough would,nt sign him ifSounds a great deal for both clubs then eh?
Mansfield get a great professional who should be very solid in L2 and we get a tall young defender, possibly with Championship potential who needs a bigger challenge.
UTB!
