Absolute garbage... on Bramall Lane loads of Forest fans about 15 of them round a random car slamming the car (was a random car) and SYP just said we'll sort it later.

Wonder what they'd have done if she just put her foot down and ran the lot of them over? Would it still be "we'll sort it later"

Further up the moor they completely lost control. Clowns.

Don't know who the nobs were throwing glasses at police horses outside the Cricketers (and setting smoke bombs off next to them). Nothing like getting trampled on by a horse. I just hope the small lad on the receiving end of one of the glasses is ok. His face was a bit of a mess.

It was wank wasn't it....flares/smoke bombs but definitely a couple of fireworks thrown too. And aye, a few glass bottles thrown- I didn't see who one hit but could see from the smashing glass and look on a police woman's face it had definitely made a mess of someone. There were a few kids crying on John Street and looking a bit shaken. Shit trick though- if you want to lamp someone and get lamped, go for it. Chucking stuff into a crowd though, shite.

And who was it chucking the glasses and flares, SYP? Or our scabby friends from down the M1?
The whole club has bent over backwards for the scabs. We have been far too deferential. With the way their fans have behaved in both games this year I think we would have been within our rights to ban away fans. We have obviously been caught up as a club with the sycophantic media Forest love in...

For all the times I have heard people say that United "bottle" the big occasions over the years, well we've got nothing on those useless cunts. Every time they "police" a big game, they are utterly ineffective, beyond trying to look tough and pointing at people.

I've got a handful of friends and a neighbour who are coppers and I've got genuine respect fir some of the stuff they deal with.

SYP at our matches as a collective? Cunts.

I'm on camera calling them that today.

Happy to see Forest fans punch a young kid and knock a middle aged woman over without doing fuck all because they only wanted to film United fans in case they reacted.

Before the game outside Lost Industry they were happy to let Forest be cunts but were more interested in Unitedites reacting to it.

Well done for whoever made the decision to put Forest fans in the upper tier.

SYP always seem happy to bully individual fans, but when there's any actual trouble they want nothing to do with it. What do we pay them for if not to stop disorder?

They wouldn't simply video a big group in town, causing trouble on a Friday night. Why is a football match any different?

Sorry but it’s the individuals that think they are 10 ton that are the worse.
Parked up and set off to the ground just as the Police where escorting loads of Forest fans. No problem they where loud and tanked up but a fair few of them couldn’t wait to be confrontational and getting in the face of the Police with taunts and even going chest to chest if any of them spoke to them.
As they passed what looked like a lock up garage , some Blades fans inside drinking they tried to run inside and started launching bottles and cans , after a minute or so the Police stepped in and moved them on , but certain individual Forest fans got very aggressive to the Police officers and where pushing them and shouting in their faces. When the Police touched them , straight away they where mumping and moaning to anybody who would listen they where been mistreated.
I had my Blades shirt on so a few of them where in my face sing “ You’ll never work again” so yes calling them Scabs , fine by me.
Got to admit they’re not the friendliest of away fans by a long way. I know the Police get lots of stick but they are definitely in a no win situation after seeing it close up yesterday.

Individuals maybe the wrong phrase, I'm sure plenty do deserve when they get spoke to / arrested etc but there's definitely an element that normal fans are treated as if they've commited a crime for attending a football match, then when there's actual disorder, especially in the ground, they don't seem bothered to stop it.

Individually I've got nothing against the coppers but as a collective SYP has shown time and time again it can't police football matches. In all the away matches I've attended none of the police forces have been as inept as SYP.

We lost out on a lot of seats today on SAG/SYPs genius move to stop disorder by putting Forest in the top tier, and it didn't make the slightest bit of difference.

Standard now to blame the police. It’s an easy target compared to pulling up the thugs that probably don’t respect social values in and out of football.
It's a given that those people are cunts, however the police are being paid to deal with those problems.

Surely this is a situation where the trouble causers are cunts and the police are useless and ineffective? FYI I generally respect the police, but when it comes to SYP at football matches they're beyond pathetic.

Definitely not defending SYP as you say they are probable the worse I've come across and certainly clueless at Policing football. It was just interesting to see what they have to put up with from the " You can't touch me brigade" yesterday. As I said Forest fans where a proper set of 2hats. Awful people.

I'd suggest SYP are the most incompetent police force in the country by a distance. Numerous examples of ridicolous tactics, yesterday coppers just stood holding hands on bramall lane doing fuck all and just adding to the congestion. Millwall games they block of the bramall lane end of john street and home fans divert and come out at the opposite side of the Petrol Station by St Marys Church, i'm not sure what difference 100 yards down a road makes in their warped minds.

Would it really be a problem keeping away fans in the ground for 5-10 mins?

For a long while now I’ve thought that SYP make things worse just so they keep getting money from clubs

Fan unrest = more cash

It’s not in their interests for fans to be well behaved. That’s why they stand back, let things happen and just film it

The way they police Barnsley games in that no away fans can drink in Barnsley is a joke. Similar with Rotherham.

It is literally their job to maintain order! Yes, blame the fuckwits throwing things, and knobheads trying to fight, but WTF is the purpose of the police if they don't protect the peaceful majority who go to football to actually watch a football game?

You can be damn sure that if someone was throwing bottles and flares around at the Henley Regatta the police would be charging in with batons drawn and potentially guns pointed. South Yorkshire police treat all football fans with contempt.

While attending a football game, you're not a member of the public, you and your family are scum to them, regardless if you're involved in disorder or not.

Well at least it stopped them running on the pitch!
The Prince should launch an internal investigation into the ludicrous decisions made for this game.

Yep, just the throwing of pyrotechnics and bottles onto the United supporters on the lower tier.

What is the actual reason for no longer keeping away fans in for 10 mins? It used to be pretty standard back in the day.

I can vouch for blade.com and his story . I worked in Nottingham and went to meet my Forest friends in Head of Steam in town . They were drinking and singing happily til about 2-10 then we started going towards the ground . Got to Arundel gate and me and my mates were ushered down towards the station and told we weren’t aloud to walk along as there were ‘home’ pubs that way . By the time we were escorted there was probably 150 or so Forest fans singing and the usual whilst being escorted. The police next to us were chatty and friendly and found it funny I was an ‘away’ fan going to a home match . There was a big guy at the front who was obviously there to cause grief and as soon as we got to the first pub full of blades happily drinking , him and a few others charged the pub causing a skirmish with bottles thrown , cans thrown etc ! The police moved as quickly as possible to stop it with a van , horses etc . Flares were let off and thrown .
As we were moved along this happened 3 more times before Decathlon , twice at pubs , once at a car park , each time instigated by the same few idiots at the front , once at that garage type pub then once at a type of cafe bar just down from it which was obviously not a ‘trouble’ pub.
The police dealt with it as quick as possible but I saw a policeman get hit with a bottle that was thrown. They genuinely are in s no win situation at times but also don’t help themselves. The big guy at the front started all 4 issues but was still aloud to keep doing it without arrest but every time they intervened or pulled people away , sometimes with batons raised the Forest fans were moaning like babies !
Sorry for the long winded account and I know the police aren’t perfect but it genuinely is a thankless job they have when dickheads are on drink and drugs and intent on causing trouble !
As ever UTB !

I’ve stopped going to away games that are policed by these utter wankers. They never fail to be a fucking disgrace.

Barnsley away this season just about put the top hat on it for me. 0 control of any situation and were treating everyone like a cunt.

It’s all very well and good having a twitter account to make it look like they want to interact with fans but their match day policing has not changed one jot. They are so incompetent its untrue.

I know they’re not the only force that are bad but they are absolutely the worst by a country mile. Yet, you can go to places like Stoke and Preston and it be a really relaxed experience where the police are genuinely helpful. Amazingly enough, when football fans are actually treated like human beings they tend to be well-behaved.

I’m sick and tired of being treated like a complete cunt by SYP every time I go away anywhere in the region. I dont go to games to cause trouble, I go for the game, for a few beers and a laugh with my mates, come home. It’s really not that hard for police forces to manage crowds effectively without diminishing experiences for normal law-abiding fans.

? They would still have come out onto Bramall Lane.
It's genuinely stupid isn't it. Keep them back 10-15 minutes FFS. When the away fans come out, they perfectly meet everyone coming from the bloody family stand!!

There were some utter scroats giving it the big'un yesterday after the match, but although there were some giving it back, on the whole it was crying kids and older folk caught in the crossfire. Makes you wonder if they'd be so brave if they had to walk past the Kop. So thick though, our fans get moved on so anyone coming from Bramall Lane past the Cricketers is a bit of a sitting duck and massively outnumbered.

Perhaps the next time we have a similar game we should cover all bases and give the away fans both upper and lower.

Very much like their team. Professional thugs who fall over and whimper when they're touched.
