Sydie Peck

People who say he’s not gifted are just plain wrong. But whether he’s Premier League gifted, only time will tell. I certainly think he’ll get a crack at it at some point, but might need another year at this level before being able to be mix it in a decent PL squad.

If that year is with us, and he stays fit, then he could be impossible to ignore by 2027. His mentality is so evidently premier league already.
I completely agree with you. I think Sydie needs another year of playing every week with us. He’s developing so well. He’s started adding goals to his games and he’s much better passing through the lines. Next thing for him is what he does when he’s on the ball. How he receives it - first touch, second touch. If he has any gaps which means he’s not quite ready for PL football it’s there. And I think he’s better served developing that with us than odd minutes here and there for a PL team. All that said, I could easily see him getting there that way too. I just want him to stay here 😂.

Whats funny about Peck, was around the same time he was getting pelters on here and the gang of village idiots were spewing their nonsense, the fans who actually went to matches were chanting his name. Funny that... It's as if those who actually go to games have less of an agenda on here.....

If they didn't know he was playing out of position they don't really know what they're watching. The amount of times I saw his number when attacking the Kop (I was sat on) was a scandal.

Please just remember all the abuse he got on here in the Selas era
and think before you knock other players
Exactly my point pal. That Talk about Peck thread contains some of the most moronic drivel posted on this forum outside of General Chat. There was one poster who shall remain nameless (as Im not that petty) would tag me after each game and ask me if i still thought he was PL quality, whilst sticking the boot in on Peck.

Erm, yes and time will prove me right. And it has and he is!!

Yep, especially the youngsters in particular. We’ve had useless ‘barn door’ Osula, Ryan One who is only non league standard, Peck not good enough, shite get rid. Arblaster the latest to get some stick. Some people cannot see it with young players whatsoever unless they are world beaters right now this minute, they are blind to any sort of progression in a young player and what they could become. Show it me right now or your forever shite is all they have got when viewing a young player.

Ruben Selles madre him captain at Ipswich in his first game after all of the transfer window signings. Peck led the team to a 5.0 defeat, so that is his leadership qualities?
Also, an absolute crying shame about Arblaster and his ACL injury, because it would be a million times nicer if he was leading out the red and white stripes and not an arrogant cockney !
I think your a piggie wind up merchant. You never ever say anything good about the Blades

Could we possibly get him on an improved contract?

He's the one I don't want to lose for next season

Let’s not forget this season we’re receiving about £35 million from Sky.
Next season it’s highly likely to reduce to about £7 million a season from Sky.

So the reality is…..we must sell players/ reduce wages to save about £28 million next season.

If we receive any large bids (around £20 million) for any player a competent business man has no option but to sell.
I’m hoping our owners don’t do a Chansiri trying to keep our best players, then build up the debts, contravening FFP rules which is effectively cheating.
Then we face a 10 point deduction. That’s the problem next season, our destiny/ plans to some degree are out of our hands.
There’ll be massive pressure for any large bid to be accepted

It'll be interesting to see the losses they are willing to sustain. The stated goal is a consolidated Prem club which obviously costs a lot of money. to achieve. A club with those ambitions sells the right player at the right time for the right money. When they think peak valuation at Champ level is reached they're gone, not before they've reached that point. Chansiri didn't cash in when the Forestieri et al bids reached those levels.

Yes we will be operating off a lower budget but also there will be less of a bloated squad. Ings and Mee will probably be gone, Soumare, Phillips and Bindon too. At least one of the Davies’s too. I agree however we will need to sell if we are wanting to either balance the books/ invest in the squad or develop infrastructure. The advantage we have is some saleable assets and if it needs to happen £20 million is small change for an average Premier League side. £20 mill with adds on maybe ok but I would hope that we have the gonads to push the ones with money to spend

There’s always an arms race to be the first to deem a young player who shows a bit of promise “a fraud” or having been “found out”.

Sadly some people think this confers on them the status of “knowing ball” as the kids say.

For goodness sake, how many times do I have to say it or spell it out.
My current negativity is my despise of Wilder, arrogant little man attitude born on the wrong side of Sheffield. He is the total opposite to what a United manager should be about, ie/ John Harris, Dave Bassett, ie/ class, respect and dignity.
I was born into a Unitedite family, first game in 1967, been home and away, worked for the club for 10 years + on matchdays in the promotional department, have had a meeting with Neil Warnock at Shirecliffe and have sat drinking tea with Kevin McCabe in his office before a game.
Over to you !

A nice try, but sadly some of our wanker fans,, will convince themselves he has got better, BECAUSE of the abuse.

That’s nothing, I had a full English with Nigel Clough once and went for a Chinese Buffet with Reg Brealey.

Call yourself a Blade?

As has been said above, we've got a ~£30m cashflow hole to fill next season.

£5m of that will come through wages from players released on frees- Davies, Ings, Mee
£10m will come through selling Hamer (fee + saved wages)

That leaves £15m which, sadly, will have to come through selling one or more of the academy graduates. Peck is the most likely to attract bids at the required level and Wilder and his team will believe that Arblaster will be in a position, come August, to step back up to a decent level.

Don’t think there’s much wrong there, other than I think if Wilder gets his way it’ll be Brooks & Seriki out if he can keep hold of Peck.

I can also see Oné being touted around for big money.

If Wilder actively chooses to cash in on Seriki and Brooks over Peck he should be relieved of his duties.

If there’s one position on the pitch that a championship side should be able to respectably refill without drama, I’d say it’s right back.

Not that I want any of them to leave, but unpleasant reality is about to land on us.
