I try not to get too over the top given the level of opposition, but that was a big step up from the unders for him and he absolutely smashed it. Quick, composed, calm and effective. Very bright future ahead for the lad and will absolutely follow the path of Brooks and Arblaster to the first team. Him and Soutar tonight were bloody brilliant.

Peck was class tonight. He’s given Wilder some competition in that midfield.

I’d have no worries with him getting some game time.

With Souza, Arblaster, Hamer, O’Hare, Brooks, Rak-Sakyi and Peck we’ve got some very strong options in there.

The other young lads performing well, Slimane not doing much wrong either we should have some back up as well

Looked like he’d been playing in our midfield for the last 5 years. Easy to get carried away against lower league opponents but he was not phased by the occasion at all. Looked very comfortable on the ball and not afraid to get his hands dirty and put himself about

Quick thinking, pass with both feet, bit of needle in him and clearly for a future at the top of the game.

If I’m the manager, he’s in the office tomorrow and I’m telling him we want a word with him and his agent.
Stick a 5 yr deal on the table and a tidy pay rise.
Him and Blaster could be the midfield for 2-3 very successful years. Great to see.
That has to be the priority with him otherwise some London club will come in and take him back there.

It’s so good for them to be put straight into the first team. I would much rather our Carabao Cup be that team and give them all minutes and let them shine.

Since Wilder has come in he’s really trusted the young lads and seems to working amazingly well.

The noticeable thing fir me, was that he wanted the ball all the time, even in tight areas he was always looking to create a little bit of space. Very similar in style to Frank Lampard and definitely box to box, he caught the eye during Pre-season and carried that on last night.
