Sydie Peck - Not one for the future, one for the present

Man of the match clearly. He’s already a pretty big lad and is only going to get even stronger. The power and aggression he has already, plus the touch, awareness and passing must put him on a few radars.

Wrexham mostly sat deep so he had room to orchestrate. But when battling was needed I couldn’t fault him on that either.

The one word of caution - I saw Connor Dimaio look imperious on his debut against a league 1 team too…. So lots to do yet.

Reminded me of Berge, but everything we wanted Berge to be! He has to be in the squad, he’s pure class.
Agreed, the way he opens his body up to receive passes & his confidence/ability to hold players off is exactly what Sander could do. The kind of qualities we need in the holding midfielders in this system.

Very encouraging performance & hopefully Wilder not signing Dozzell is a show of faith in Peck!

If he isn't going to feature much I would loan him out for at least half the season. Regular football would bring him on more.

Has a decent build about him unlike some of the other lads.

Yes, easily stood out as the best player on the pitch and there were a few good performances. Hampson and Marsh look like they have something as well. Exciting that we have all these good young players.

Has great awareness of what’s around him when the fall arrives at his feet, used the ball intelligently and makes good choices. I love that bit of fire and competitive streak as well.

Looks first team ready to me. If we needed to start him in a league game I would have total confidence in him. Great prospect.

I'd argue he just needs time with us, especially if Hamer or Souza leaves.

People talking about different levels he was up against, playing against Wrexham's reserves, but didn't think Marsh/Hampson/Boyes showed much in comparison.

Shout-out to Seriki though, he looked lively before he had to go off.

He's the youngster I've been rooting for most, in terms of pressing on here, and in terms of us handling his development well.

Encouraging debut, looked very composed against lower league one opposition.

Difficult call for the coaching team to make now. Is he earmarked for a loan, or keep him here, if he can get minutes?

With young players, chucking them into Mr’s football at a high level can often be detrimental to their development which is why you often see them loaned out to lower league sides to get the experience. Getting bullied by bigger boys can and will knock a young players confidence and the higher up the chain you go, the more you will see it happen.

Last night, he was up against a big physical league 1 team and he was excellent. Needs to be remembered that the Wrexham side also had 10 changes so was very much a league 1 reserve side, but he was still very impressive. Not prepared to say that he needs chucking into a promotion chasing championship side just yet, but the early signs are very, very promising.

Well done lad!

He was head and shoulders above any other midfielders on the pitch last night. Helped by the fact that Wrexham were very loose in that area and gave him the time needed

Gets stuck in, not afraid to shoot, recovers well from any rare mistakes, great range of vision and passing, wins his fair share of headers.

Peck was Coulibaly wasn't because he was awful and was surprised he wasn't hooked at half time. Only reason I can think of is that CW didn't want to be putting Souza or Hamer on for any prolonged period and get injured in a game that wasn't majorly important other than giving fringe players a run out.

If Peck can do that against decent Championship opposition, we'll have a player on our hands.

Hope we’ve got the lad on a decent contract…wouldn’t want to be saying ‘Sydie later’ anytime soon.

Clear after the game some of pros understood his talent, fletcher practically kissed him at the end when praising him, 19 and that composed. So many talented young players in this latest crop.

He is going to be a legend, good engine gets involved , is strong and fearless , he knocked hardened wrexham hard men off the ball. Still raw but obviousa talent like Kyle Walker was.

The academy have turned out some really good players over the years but this latest crop are outstanding . The first team squad look so much stronger after Tuesday night . Please Princey scrap your policy of allowing players contracts to run out and get these lads tied down quickly because there's going to be big clubs coming around and trying to get these outstanding gems for nowt . Lets do a Chelsea and get them on long term contracts and we are on a winner either they stay at the club or other clubs need to cough up the cash they are really worth.
