Sydie Peck - Not one for the future, one for the present

Could an option be to play 4 in midfield and 2 upfront instead? Midfield 4 of Souza holding, Peck and Arblaster left and right centre mid and Hamer as the attacking one infront of Arblaster and Peck

He likes a tackle, could he be cover/competition/replacement for Souza?
I think so, but although Arblaster and him have played together for a long time, it's a big ask to rely on them. If Souza goes I'd look to bring in another experienced and physical midfielder.

In 2002/03 we started with Tonge and Jagielka in central midfield, but we soon realised McCall had a part to play.

Yes I'd say you are right. I wouldn't bet the season on him but he could surely get some good game time in there this season.

That last sentence is not the worst problem we could have. Wilder often speaks about places never being guaranteed in the squad. If this lad was breathing down my neck I'd want to try harder too.

I never said it was a problem bud, it is a fantastic position to be in. Barring Slimane who can leave for me (despite pen and goal), you have ridiculous competition... welcome competition but never the less difficult for the lad.

Im torn, but would a loan in league one hurt?.... perhaps not.

Aye it's a great problem to have..

I'm a bit of a gambling man and I think taking the softly softly approach is a bit irritating for players clearly capable. He needs to play in the championship. I mean this in the nicest way but I think if I had the choice I'd send Brewster to league 1 and Grbic. Confidence boosters and just find their feet

One game……

Agree but was so impressed with his style......pass and move....pass and move....he has a bit of Mark Duffy/ Callum O'Hare vibe to his game.
Always wanting the ball, great first touch, so calm and composed in possession, able to play a quick one touch passing game.

If you have a few players who can play that quick pass and move game then you're on to a winner.....like when we had Coutts, Fleck and Duffy.

Peck is only 19 and looked a clear level above the league 1 Wrexham players.
Last year he came on as sub against Brentford and didnt look out of place at Premier league level.
It's possible he's going to be some player. Hope we have him on a long contract.

Don't think you would have anyone with the budget to take Brewster or Grbic in league one mate, they are on some wonga p/w after all.

We have to persevere with Brewster now regardless i think and hope for the best. Grbic has a suitor overseas and it needs to happen pronto ( and I feel it will).

Got to be first reserve now in centre midfield, not that there's much competition in there from the likes of Tom Davies.

Needs a contract putting under his nose first thing tomorrow and get him tied down for the next 4 to 5 years.

Fuck it, loan him to a club for cheap. We've paid him for what, 4 years? And he's scored about as many goals so he's hardly value for money. More of an investment for us if he gets his confidence and scoring boots on

All of a sudden the bench doesn't look so weak ,this lad can hold his own, looks ready to take his chance.

The most important question is , why is he called Sydie?

One game……
Yes one game against seasoned physical professional
If you went then you would have seen the level of performance he put in tonight
He dominated the whole game short long passing tackling mobility decision making awareness and technical ability 12 out of 10 just became possible
A special talent for sure but is he champions ready - not sure

Feeling more confident about cm depth now
