Super Cooper, Blades have got a keeper

Makes no difference what division you are in when comparing Keepers. A shot is a shot, a head a header. Most professional keepers can make the odd brilliant save etc, but the difference is, can you do it when you've had nothing to do for 85 mins then have to pull off a worldie. Coops has shown he is a very rounded in every aspect of goalkeeping. A top top Keeper, who also seems to be a top guy too.

I think he’s fantastic, but it’s a difficult kind of challenge and pressure in the Premier League. I don’t think you can say he’s better than Henderson until he has excelled at that level.

Hes got all the attributes to go right to the top. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t rack up 30+ England senior caps. Unfortunately he’s too good for us. A player like Maguire and Walker who we will remember fondly as a footnote in our history while having an outstanding career elsewhere. Let’s enjoy him while we can.

Given how many games we've won by the odd goal, I wonder where we'd be without him?

As others have said, I doubt it would make too much difference in the top flight, probably losing 3s and 4s instead of 5s and 6s. Ought to account for a few more points against the bottom half sides though so, with a couple of inspired centre back signings, who knows?

All under the precarious scenario that we get there, of course.

I’d never seen him before he joined us but everyone here was devastated and saying the same things we are now

Not in the FA cup game against Plymouth a few years ago??

He made Ramsdale look a twat in that game. Although yesterday his effort to stop the offside goal was awful unless he had seen the flag up.

Apart from being able to make some extremely good saves as he has already demonstrated , another of his attributes I greatly admire is his handling of crosses and other high balls .

Even more impressive is the apparent nonchalance with which he does so , often in situations which would have the majority of keepers struggling .

In this respect I have to go back as far as Alan Kelly to think of someone who could possibly match him in this respect and even then , I think Cooper just shades it .

What a signing .

The shots are quicker taken, hit harder and into the corners (average EPL strikers would have scored Brewster 1-1 before defender got back)

set pieces (arsenal) are far better orchestrated. Fuckin full time set pieces coach bollox

Think he’ll adjust to the step up to EPL in the way he has Plymouth to us, just a chilled guy With confidence and better than clown Ramsdale who’s about to to have 3 relegations with 3 different clubs in 5 years on his CV ….. if it looks like shit and smells like shit… it’s probably shit.

Impossible to tell. Hendo did well in the PL!
Henderson had jack O'Connell in front of him. Only Liverpool hades shots on target against them that season. The season after we had the most

To the tune of
Stupid Cupid -

Super Cooper is our number one
he's the best we've had since Henderson.
But when the big boys come a sniffing round
And we need money for the training ground
I Pray,
they don't say,
I'm sorry but we couldn't stand in his way.....
Connie Francis🤔Showin thi age theer lad😁
It scans well,unusually for here👍

Fuck off about too good for us! That's a problem we've got with our so called fans always belittling us! Why can't he go on and play in the prem with us , and fuck England, let them keep picking Jordan pickfork 😂👍

Getting into the England side would be incredible considering it's probably the hardest position to break into the squad let alone get 30+ caps Henderson is 27 and has 2 and Ramsdale has 5

It's so refreshing not having to hold my breath when a cross comes in, you just know that Cooper will claim it with no fuss.

Having a quality, reliable keeper really does have a massively positive impact on the whole team IMO. Ramsdale never once has convinced me (including his spell as no. 1 at the Arse) that he is a top level keeper. Always feels like there's a mistake in him and he often will pull off worldie saves but then let in a weak effort.

Same for Hendo but on a lesser scale. Also just found Ramsdale to be a complete naus.

This video of Ramsdale makes me die of cringe

He is so nonchalant. Sometimes when he comes for a cross it feels like he is never going to lift his hands, only do so right at the last second. Then he collects comfortably and I wonder why I ever worried.

Has been discussed before that we need a song for our stupendous custodian.

Think may have been a variation of this suggested before, but I humbly submit this for acclaim/ ridicule/ indifference.

To tune of Super Trooper, obvs.

Super Cooper, Blades have got a keeper
Came up from Devon
Cost two million
Soon be England's number one.
Yeah, surprised the Blades haven’t repurposed this one…The Scabs used to use it when Quasi was manager.

Cooper is a considerably better keeper than both

We well and truly had Plymouth's yfronts down with this signing, his value is now minimum 15m

Personally I have nothing against Ramsdale, but that video is nauseating. I see talk of Leeds being interested in signing him so there could be another video on the way ;)

The measure of Cooper for me was in his save from Chair’s shot. To the uninitiated it looks like a panicked scramble but he’s delayed his dive to allow for any possible deflections.

Calmness personified and if we are to a) go up and b) stay up he will have had an awful lot to do with both.

That save made think of how well prepared he is to make them, positioning, weight balance, reading the play and anticipating it.
Many times he collects the ball with such nonchalance, that such confidence is contagious to the rest of the team, hence we play out when he sees the move. It's great to watch.
