Nope, just issuing empty, but disgusting threats to individuals.

Helps when you have half of the old school BBC playing for you mind.

That's not my experience of the bloke, always been nice as pie to me. :)

As for Bradway, I played against them many times whilst he and Wilder were running things, they were a decent football team who, if anything were seen as a bit of a soft touch, show-ponies...certainly in comparison to some of the top teams around at the time such as the Jag's.

Known Wit and his brother for over 30 years ,hes sound ,and if you are whittling about touchline gangsters back in the day the sunday league was full of them ,they came with the territory ,including referees ,one of who was an old UDA gang member. In the leaue I played in Cowens ran one team ,Cliff Andrews another ,Kyle Walkers dad played in one side , Mathew Bell ran another team ,it was great and empty threats were just part of it ,water off a ducks back.

That was way back.

Post Jags packing in and Wilder, think 'Wit' continued secretarial duties with 'em. Definitely not a soft touch when I played against 'em, though I was playing for the softest team around back then.

Never come across Sean Hull then... no empty threats there lol.

Cowens ran Mosborough, we were playing against them when Danny Dyer's docco was filming it and him.

That was indeed way back...guess they turned into a bunch of bitter cloggers at the end, bullying 'soft teams'.

Sunday mornings eh! :D

Like I said, half the team were BBC, do definitely no soft touch. I'm talking around 98/99.

Ex-pro's, semi pro's and future pro's as I remember them.

Yep ,me and my mates played for different clubs in different leagues so in 87 we formed our own team playing out of the Red House and the Nomads was the best run league so we joined that. Ours and Matt Bells (Turners) team went up through the divisions in consecutive seasons until we got to the top ,I loved every minute of it

Played for same team under various guises Captive Queen, Carrs Silverware and Lynthorpe b4 we joined Super draw league...good days

Made me chuckle that, Bradway were never clogger's and as for being full of beep ,what the posh section ,Sunday football nowadays is just a poor shadow of what it was

Remember the Captive ,in fact some of our lads were related to one of your lot and we would have a drink after. that was always a 'physical' game :) We were Red House for a few years ,then Devonshire ,Barrell and finished off in the Hermitage when Ludlam was landlord.

A guy called Alan Clowes set Nomads up, didn't he? He used to manage a team I played for as a kid and I remember him going on about setting up another Sunday league for all the teams that couldn't get in the established leagues. Decent bloke for a pig.

I can't be bothered to trawl through this thread. Owt happened?

we need sharks.. big sharks.. and aliens :D

Dr. Evil: You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently my cycloptic colleague informs me that that can't be done. Ah, would you remind me what I pay you people for.? Honestly? Throw me a bone here! What do we have?
Number Two: Sea bass.
Dr. Evil: [Unconvinced] ... Riiiight.
Number Two: They are mutated sea bass.
Dr. Evil: Really? Are they ill tempered?
Number Two: Absolutely.
Dr. Evil: Oh well, that's a start.
