As I said on another thread...Wilder handled this brilliantly. He put it out there early on that "January isn't a brilliant transfer window". And everyone swallowed it, hook, line and sinker. It's been fun listening to Radio Sheffield presenters repeating it back and seeing folks on here say the same. The facts are, any transfer window is an opportunity to strengthen the side - and that's what he's done. He's managed expectations at the same time. It is, quite simply, the best window ever!

Didn‘t realised that these players are identified, tracked and approached over 12 or even 24 months.
As Wilder says these transfers don’t just happen....there’s loads of prep work done over many months.

The thing that impresses me is that unlike other teams we don’t just buy talented players.
We have a clear plan regards tactics and buy players to do a “specific job”, playing to the players strengths.

Im also impressed and really surprised that we‘ve bought 2 players (Berge and Retsos) who are likely to be 1st teamers.

To be honest, I believe something changed after McCabe appeal was rejected. It pretty much assured Prince will get full control of the club.

Obviously that doesnt mean these players weren't tracked for 12 or more months. Just means we now had the ability to sign them.
