Higginbotham
McGinty
Williams

Brandy
Hammond
McAllister
McFadzean

Forte
Paynter

There were undoubtedly some other horrors that have missed out, some certainly worse than this 11 who weren't on the pitch long enough to make a lasting impression such as Jasper Johns' awful cameo, and Marlon King's short but effortless spell in the same season.

There's probably plenty of others I've missed too who've been worse, but these were the first that sprung to mind in each position.
Is that the McGinty who's donkey won the half mile race? Look under Val Doonican.

Simmo has to be a shoe-in for the keeper slot.

Marlon "C**t" King would be challenging Sammon, maybe coming off the bench.

Hammond - naturally

David Weir managing (of course) with Mickey Adams assisting.

To be pedantic Adams didn't manage us in L1 as he was potted as soon as we were relegated.

Harrison McGahey is very lucky not to be getting more mentions here, he was a truly awful player.

Oh and sorry Wilder, but Chris Hussey needs to be considered at left back. He was so so bad defensively. No coincidence that we improved so dramatically once he was replaced.

I dont care how much he tried Neil Collins was shite. And for me personified our recent time in the third division. Extremely depressing that we had even worse players play in his position as well.

There is stiff competition for the other forward role:

Poleon
Forte
Ironside
Paynter
Beattie
O'Halloran

And that's without thinking about it.

In fact, as terrible as Sammon was, you can make a good case to leave him out, as he outscored that lot on his own - Forte was the only one who managed a goal.

And it's forgotten now, but Johnny Ertl did make the odd appearance in our first season down here, so he could go in midfield somewhere.
I was going to mention Ironside as well. What exactly were his attributes? He wasn't tall, fast, powerful. So he couldn't leap, run or hold off a man.

Boganovic? John Egan? Jordan Slew? Jordan Chappell? John Cofie? Paul Gallagher? Dave McAllister? Febian Brandy? Ryan Hall? Joe Ironside? Jasper Johns? Simon Lappin? Sean McGinty? Aidan White? Stee Davies? Paddy McCarthy? James Wallace? Craig Alcock?
The stuff of nightmares. No wonder we've been down here for 6 years.
Egan you say? 😏

Unfortunately, that’s all we had at the time. Collins and Doyle were both limited but you can’t knock them for their commitment to the club.

The problem was the other players were shit and didn’t care. I think that’s what wrankles people the most, you can kind of forgive players if they’re not great but we had too many players in that period who were past it and looking for a last pay day.

Apparently a shit house n all

Never liked Doyle or Collins, simply talentless toilers the pair of them. We were stuck with them for so long because nobody else in their right mind would ever pay us money for them and we had nobody else to put there.

His only attribute was that he came through the youth ranks.

Same with George Long, Callum McFadzean & Diego De Girolamo.

No chance we would have signed any of them from another club.

May sound harsh, but they all only got a chance to
play for the club because how far we had fallen.

As a bit of an alternate spin I’m gonna do a worst 11 comprised exclusively of players who have been here during the Wilder era. Few are a bit harsh because they never played but it shows that we’ve still had to endure a bit of dross in this time (albeit of a much higher standard than the nightmare inducing players others have brought up on here!)

GK - George Long
LB - Chris Hussey
CB - Reece Brown
CB - Kean Bryan
RB - Joe Riley
LM - Nathan Thomas
CM - Samir Carruthers
CM - Ryan Leonard
RM - Ricky Holmes
ST - James Wilson
ST - Ben Woodburn

GK Simonsen
RB Westlake
CB McGinty
CB McEveley
LB Williams
RM Woolford
CM Hammond
CM Lappin
LM Johns
ST Higdon
ST O'Halloran

My alternative:

Long
Brayford, Brown, Heneghan, Bryan, Hussey
Carruthers, Holmes
Woodburn
C.Evans, McNulty

A tricky one to answer this!

GK - Simmonsen
RB - Westlake
CB - Alcock
CB - McEveley
LB - Williams
RW - Brandy
CM - Lappin
CM - Hammond
LW - Woolford
FW - Higdon
FW - Sammon

It makes me a bit ill, looking at that XI.

This.

It could be any player you give the middle name ‘Fucking’ to. For example, Barry Fucking Robson, Dean Fucking Hammond etc.
