I have been offered the chance to buy some as they are worth 2 bob ( suprise)
I am interested partly out of loyalty ; partly because I do want to attend the AGM and partly because I think we will rise again.
I know there are shareholders on her so what I want to know is
1 What is a fare price?
2. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?
3. Should I be sectioned?

All reples gratefully appreciated

They are not available on the open market but this is a private transaction and I am paying half that for 37500 which means they have an incredibly low face value - hence my firends wish to sell

Woeful spelling.

The only 'pitfall' that I'm aware of is that you probably won't ever get back what you paid for them. But I think most of us who have bought any shares did not do so for money making reasons!

He's not your firend (or even friend) - the share certificate is worthless because the shares were all re-purchased a couple of years ago.

No it is not I still have mine. Granted they not worth any real value as McCabe owns 99.9 or whatever percentage of all the other shares and they will never pay a dividend. Holding onto mine for old times sake and a guaranteed entrance to the AGM.

I apologise for the spelling and no he is not a fraudster nor from Nigeria; thank you for the comments some more helpful than others. I will go ahead I think
BTW I thought the ethos of this forum was that you could post without being abused?

If you ever want to sell them you'll have to do a private deal with someone or sell them through the club's recommended stockbroker who'll sell them for you. However its difficult to find buyers.

When when McCabe took the club out of public ownwership a few years ago the shares were worth about 8p.

With the downturn in the club's fortunes and McCabe issuing new shares to repay loans etc my guess is the share price on the open market will have fallen even further.

They are currently woth 8p per share. Official stockbroker is JP Jenkins.

Of course with the shares you also get a nice glossy set of the accounts/propaganda as well each year. I expect that this years will tell me that the current financial conditions are difficult and that the team is doing well on the pitch after the disappointment of relegation - roll on December.

There is no money to be made out of SUFC shares hence the reason why thec McCabe family have been unable to find any investors.
The advantages of being a shareholder is the attendance at the annual general meeting.
Gone are the days when a share holder had a free season ticket seat at the lane.
If one is interested in realising their investment then I would suggest no one over the age of 40 makes a purchase.
