Don't understand the point here. There is Premier League infastructure and we were unlucky with regards to Ched. Those were the points he was making. Nowhere soes he say that the Ched decision is still hampering the club to this day. I'm not a fan of McCabe by any means but both of those statements are true.

Not that this 'spat' is anything to do with you Pete, other than for me to say that I treat people as I find them and there are two on here who do provoke me and who bring out the worst in me so I bite back, that much is true and I'm not proud of it. Thanks for pointing it out though, Pete, you are of course right on this occasion. I have tried 'ignoring' you both but it turned out you are even worse without some sort of retaliation.

BTW, I rarely 'play hell' with anybody else but I do sometimes try to help out some posters who you two 'get your hooks into'.

I left this thread last night as regretted getting embroiled so this will be my last comment on it.

I think you know what I mean Woody. The constant pleas to "add value" (including via private message), the annoyance at "All Blades together ruining your thread", as Barney pointed out, the complaining about being provoked right have after attempting to provoke someone and the numerous times you've had a go at people for taking a thread off on a tangent.

People in glass houses and all that.

I'd have quite liked to have come back to the point about Turnbull, but as has been mentioned, another question comes in and the tide of the conversation moves on. I don't want to read too much into it, but going by his tone, he didn't seem too impressed thus far. I wanted to ask in more detail what he's actually been doing and what progress he's made in identifying targets for us.

It could be that he's actually working quite hard and that it's just he's not brought anyone in for us yet - hence the 'not seen it yet' comments, but Kev didn't elaborate, the issue wasn't raised again and we're left with another fucking question from an event where we were supposed to be getting answers.

He will only ever give half an answer to a question so there’s absolutely no point having these events where you ask one question, he answers the bit that he wants to in the way that he wants to safe in the knowledge there can be no follow up question and it’s onto the next topic without any challenge to the answer he’s given.

Unfortunately our local press are scared of compromising their relationship with the clubs so they daren’t grill the chairman and we’re left with “we’ve been unlucky”, “nothing you can do when clubs come in for our players” etc. and no real sense of accountability or lessons learned.

It's not technically local press, but it is a media outlet of sorts and it's the biggest SUFC fans forum there is. I see S24SU has a seldom-used YouTube channel. Why not propose a 90-minute, detailed, structured interview conducted by somebody from the forum? The questions could be put forward by users and put together in a manner which forms a narrative that would aim to satisfy fans instead of skimming over subjects which hold concern with us.

I don't know if it's something McCabe would go for, but it's a proposition worth considering, especially if McCabe is serious about his 'United Reunited' initiative. Equipment/location wouldn't be an issue. It'd just need someone calm and confident to conduct the interview.

Foxy or Linz has anything along these lines ever been proposed or done before? The forum has been around a while and I'm a relative newcomer, so I don't know what has/hasn't been done before.

That's a very interesting idea. It would need an interviewer with the assertiveness to push him on questions rather than allowing the one line explanation that leaves the listener/ reader asking "yeah but.."
