Ooh matron.

You wanting to get into the action ?

Missing a bit of the old “shoreham Agro” are ya ?

You have your opinion, I’ll have mine. You don’t have to like it.

And you have now joined a growing list of posters who appear unable to disconnect confidence for arrogance,

It’s not the same !

I enjoyed the game but differ from many including perhaps Wilder in that l really would have liked him to throw the dice, play the subs and go all out for the win.

I realise that this could have meant we'd all be moping around today and for weeks after, or that the result might have been unchanged.

But I'm not really satisfied with a cautious approach. It's not what we're used to with Wilder and I hope he puts this aside and returns to form.

Perhaps the occasion got to him. Perhaps he was right in the sense that many seem to agree that it was ok to settle for a draw rather than risk a loss last night.

Billy should have played a part in that game even if it was to use his excellent crossing ability to feed the other strikers or as a rallying call to up the tempo.

UTB.

I reckon anyone other than them lot,we would have seen the usual approach, look at the reaction on here both last night and today, and that's to a draw, imagine the reaction had they nicked a late goal and stole all 3 points

Two points about Billy, firstly the lack of decent balls into the box would have meant him having to drop back to pick the ball up. Not what we want from a poacher. Secondly he's in a poor run of form - which most strikers suffer from at times - which by the criteria for dropping Clarke should mean Wilder was quite right to leave him on the bench. (On another thread that means he's "not wanted").

Don,'t know if any one's noticed but we haven't played well since we lost Coutts and the Trinity was broken.
OK Lundstram plays some nice long balls to stretch play like Coutts did but the understanding they had isn't there any more maybe it's just an experience thing but the team is definitely poorer for it.
Let's hope the more experienced Leonardo is the man to restore it...

Billy does his best work in the box facing goal in a channel as wide as the posts. His efficiency decreases in relation to the distance he is away from this area. The same thing happened to him in his 2nd spell here.

I could now go on to write war and peace as to why this is so.

Easier to just say that this is also an opinion that I share with you !

Don't think anyone has thought of that before Sandy.

Sharp may as well go. It is clear he is no longer wanted here.

Don't know what the fuck Wilder was playing at tonight.
What would Sharp have done that Clarke and Donaldson didn't?
Org the front two got outmuscled and Donaldson only overcome his man after he got a yellow card

Stick or twist though? 0-0 two subs left. Twist for me.

Billy isn’t good enough in the championship I’m afraid.

Imagine losing 1-0 to SWFC yesterday it would have been horrendous.

I thought Wilder did the right thing at the time, as he did push the two full backs as wingers after the sending off and bash and joc went up even more. It's difficult when they parked the piggy bus on the 18 yard line and packed the midfield, so no space behind. So think the idea was Wilson could link up with the midfield runners more rather than his pace.

Big picture is that that we have come from nowhere in a season and half and have a great chance of the playoffs without spunking millions.

Wednesday will be in real trouble without saleable assets (bar Reach) and a transfer embargo. The delusional at S6 wont enjoy the dour stuff they will be playing at home for the rest of the season.

I thought Lundstram started to make more forward runs after the sending off too.

I’d have swopped Lundstram for Leonard last 20 mins. The game was crying out for someone to have a bloody shot and Leonard is good at that.

When a team has 10 players in defence you have to get around the back of them, take them on, one on one, go through the middle. Or have a bloody pop from outside the box.

I agree with this, especially about taking them on. For me there was only really 1 moment of magic for us and that was Fleck's run from the halfway line to their box. He was direct, made players try to bring him down and he did it very well. The only way they could stop him was by a foul giving us a free kick just 20 yards out that admittedly, should have at least been on target. Why did no player at that point realise that their players shit themselves whenever someone is direct and forces them to make a decision? That for me is why Wilson came on, I think he was probably told to run at people and use his pace but sadly he wasn't given a chance

Fair point on bringing on Wilson to run at them, but he did have several touches and didn't really try and run at them aside from the long distance shot bit. I'm not really blaming him, its early days and he's missed lots of footie, that being the case, I'm still confused as to why no other subs were made.

I agree, it surprised me as well. I thought that with 20 to go, we'd bring Leonard on for Duffy and tell him to just have a go at them whether it be running at them or making an opportunity to shoot from 20 yards out

Clarke has become untouchable in the eyes of the management. And 99%+ of our fans. Not mine.

Based on recent performances, and in particular last night, for the life of me I can’t understand why. I understand he is well in credit, but on merit, Clayton should have stayed on and Clarke pulled last night.

In view of this I am increasingly concerned. The faith shown to Clarke looks misguided and misplaced from my perch. And don’t get me started on the armband. For a player / man known to be a massive introvert, this appears bizarre at best.

Harsh, but I wonder if hindsight will ultimately reveal we should have taken Villas money when we had the chance ? Time will tell ;)

And I agree with others in that if Sharp can’t get 10-20 minutes in a game like that, the writing does indeed look to be on the wall.

I wonder if geeseguy is on the lookout for a striker ?

Pathetic ?

Or prophetic ??
