Stupid prices

We shouldn't be comparing with others, we should be setting thr example to others. Slash prices. Fill the lane. It's simple.

Anything over 20 quid for 90 minutes of 'entertainment' is daylight robbery.

I paid 35 quid for 6 bands the other weekend. For 6 hours!
if the tickets were £20 do you seriously think they’d be 28K+ every game. I doubt it.
Attendences are more affected by the success of the club

When tickets were 20-25 quid and we had those C games where it was a tenner, attendences were up at 28k on week nights.

So yes, I think they will.

£30 for a game of football is ridiculous. To be honest those of you paying it are the problem, refuse to pay it and the clubs will soon learn. I'd never pay that to watch a game and bar play off finals/cup semis never have done.

£32 on the kop for this Cat A game for Villa on Satdi.

If we get to the Prem then the coin should mean they will not need to increase this or actually reduce it (cos fans mean nowt in the Prem, financially)

So not that much cheaper than football really.

The England Cricket were no doubt one of the cheaper tickets. Racing is always good value for tickets because they know you will spend plenty of money when you get in.

Are you talking county championship cricket? For how many they get in for that I’m amazed they charge that much!

A hell of a lot more cheaper than football I'd say, you'd pay more than that in the Conference. A full day's (6 hours), top class Championship cricket, for £16-£18 is excellent value. What's the average price in the (football) Championship, £30ish, at least, for 90 minutes, in my book cricket much better value, and there's no diving and cheating and pretending their injured.

I bet you spend a lot more money, or rather a lot of people will, at a cricket match than at BL.

But not based on reality. But please tell us how the optimum price will be close to £20 and how that would work for United now?
I’ve told you. A few dozen others on this thread likewise.

You have chosen to be dismissive of the viewpoint.

Not the first time eh Seanie ? How’s that panning out ?;)

£20 is plenty.

EFL clubs will eventually come unstuck if they don’t observe this very simple model.

Problem is without the TV money teams at the EFL our more reliant on ticket money so its harder for EFL clubs to offer cheaper tickets. Whereas the PL clubs are able to let people in for free and still make as much money as they did on the last TV deal, because the latest Sky deal is so large. So little trickles down and that's the major problem of the PL, not that you'll ever hear Scudamore admit this.

The recent BBC football survey showed that 66% of Uniteds' income came from matchday attendances. It is clear that the club rely heavily on the ticket sales.
The club have a tough job to balance the books and keep fans happy with the ticket prices. I personally think the pricing is fair.

I was considering going to this one with my Son. Two adults for South stand £76, priced out im afraid.
Having said that, I factored in drinking before and after match - taking it to £120ish.
Even last year when I had a season ticket, it was an expensive match day on some occasions.
Im in the twentys plenty camp.

Prices to watch utd v villa are ridiculous. Just been looking at the colour coded map on website and well be lucky to get 25000 im ok myself being s t holder but never thought we would go down the wendy route
Genuine question, which route have we gone down, could you show the like for like pricing structure to give evidence of the "wendy" route?

You made the statement. Now we see it's based on nothing but a figure thrown in for effect with no thought behind it whatsoever. Acting smug doesn't hide the fact that you can't explain how you got to that figure. But if you can't, you can't.

No no no. Like me you don't understand. We charge £20 and income drops. Someone else pays or, like Bradford, you can't strengthen.

Presumably EFL players wages will come down to balance everything out and PL clubs will be able to hoover better players even cheaper?

Double entry book-keeping isn't something the sages on here can't grasp.

How the fuck do you expect me to know, as FACT what our optimum pricing structure is ?

I offered an opinion. Nothing more.

You chose to take it / interpret it as a factual statement. Not me.

Now if you want some facts ....................

Calm down Forrest. So l'm correct. It's an opinion based on nothing, otherwise you'd know where the "close to twenty quid" claim came from. Even opinions usually require some thought, otherwise there's no valudity to it. As we've seen tonight.

And I didn't say you'd claimed it as a fact, that's mendacious.

0/500? Making even less sense.

That sort of pricing, £15 - £20, would be a viable option if safe standing was brought in, would suit the young uns more.
Me and my lad used to be season ticket holders, we spent more on the drive to Sheffield and back, plus food etc than the cost of the match ticket. For fans that live local to Sheffield, a season ticket is really good value.

I am not sure if cheaper matchday ticket would overall bring in more money for the club, if it did it would be the ideal situation.

We have to compete with the rest of the division and as long as our prices are comparable with the other clubs in the championship, there is nothing to argue about,as far as i know they are.

Read all of the comments on this solitary thread.

Get your head out the clouds and UNDERSTAND just exactly how many folks are priced out of going, when cheaper pricing would allow them to.

A high percentage of families work to a budget.

For a dad to take his son / daughter to this match, with a few add on costs such as drink, grub, programme etc. Your looking at £60-75 ish.

The AVERAGE net take home pay in South Yorkshire is around £400 per week.

MAKE THE CONNECTION !!!

Now. Optimum pricing.

The theory being at what pricing point does a club MAXIMISE its match day revenue. Which is I believe where your point is going.

The balance between attracting numbers over unit pricing.

I’m assuming you understand it’s not quite as straightforward as the attendance figures in isolation, due to additional sales of drink, grub, programmes, club shop, etc.etc.

I’m telling thee, basic mathematics concludes it’s cheaper than is currently being charged !!

And just for the record, IMHO !!!!

I think the OP maybe fishing and using wednesday in a debate seems to be a good bait ;)

How much are Kop walk up prices? £35 is a lot but surely they are the exception and will be snapped up by the used car salesmen around the Lane.
On the day £33 I believe. Tickets are £31 in advance (plus £1 online booking fee).
