Must be a big company to put the kind of money he has at Rotherham.

Can't be exact but I am under the impression ASD are a £25m turnover company employing some 180 people

As for our McCabe, it was well documented the soundbites coming out of his mouth at the time of SM's interview. He mentioned the club having to stand on its own two feet, cutting our cloth and the same owd same owd about utilising our academy. We were potless and it comes as no surprise that we were in for a torrid time as club without the Princes investment and whilst his investment didn't actually see any return on his investment league position wise, I shudder to think where we might have ended up without it, leaving KM to still run the show alone and possibly having to stick with Weir

"First League One match with over 20,000". Haven't we got over 20,000 for every Home game???

We haven't yet breached 20k this season. Our last home match (vs. Port Vale) was the closest we've come - 19,699.

The whole point was not what was on our books that summer but what the budget was for the following summer. Of course certain contracts had to work through but those players had to be replaced by youths or cheap signings.

It may be "history now" but it's exactly why McCall didn't think he could come back and why we couldn't recruit an experienced manager. Not only was there no money to spend but the manager had to slash wages costs. Weir believed he would be given time and then the prince arrived and the ball game changed.

So many on here had their heads in the sand, including Bladesway who battled me for months on this issue.

I wish the prince had not arrived and we would have gotten ourselves a Chris Wilder much earlier in the piece. I've always said that and it is so true.

Some people are so desperate to be perceived as being right, even when they're wrong.

It's more important than us winning for some.

After all the ridicule I got on here in 2012 for pointing out the strategy which McCall has now outlined above, yes it is important to me to remind certain posters about it because they made it personal and yes it is good to be proved correct.

"More important than winning" is an unworthy comment which maybe says more about you Pete.

The fact that you've held on to 'ridicule' that you might have received from over 4 years ago should say rather a lot to you too.

I am often reminded of my posts from back then by people like you actually Pete.

Only this week Axel quoted one on this thread from way back then. Nothing wrong with that (other than it being totally out of context)!!

All part of expressing one's views which is the point of a Forum.

I feel like there's a song I should sing to you made famous by a Disney ice princess.

All together now...

"Both working class clubs" ?? Show me a football team that is not working class apart from Arsenal.

Reading, QPR, MK Dons

Chelsea are full of the nouveau riche, have been for a few years. What that makes the club is debatable, they were always predominantly working-class throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s. When Pavarotti made the sport acceptable to the middle classes they flocked to Chelsea though.

You are joking surely.
You must mean affluent.
Go to a Rugby Union game, and you will see middle class sport.
Reminds me of when I went to a Rugby cross code game at Knowsley Road St Helens vs Sale Sharks. The first half was the borefest of Yawnion and the second half the proper, ball in hand open running, game.
I was stood in front of the 'Sally Cinnamon' Saints fans (the noisiest section)who were going through the repertoire of chants taking the piss out of the borefest game. After the ball got booted out of play for another stoppage for the umpteenth time, for a line out, with simulated ballet dancing lifts ; the Saints fans were giving it large with renditions of 'what a load of rubbish' followed by 'you can stick your fecking union up your arse'.
By the side of me were 2 Sale fans, One turned to the other in a rather understated posh public school tone remarked ' Not quite the same atmosphere we are used to is it Jeremy?'
Fucking Union bunch of 2@s.

I found this an interesting read although took it with a pinch of salt at the same time especially when the Sheff Utd bit has conflicting information on it!
I scanned down it from top to bottom looking at the billionaires and millionaires, don't know why but Newport Town's owner made me laugh for about 5 minutes. Don't know why, most of us would do it.

Forgot to put the link in!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_football_club_owners

Why are we shown as being 100% owned by Prince Abdullah? Did I nod off and miss something important, again?
