Absolute garbage. Now paying the price for.having to buy on a budget. Either too old, too slow, too injury prone or had their 6 week purple patch.

There's little pace or power to trouble decent defenders and now teams have stopped our overlapping full backs our dearth of options is beginning to show.

Number one requirement this summer. We are.reasonably well positioned over the rest of the park but we need a lot of money spending up front if we hope to get out of this league in the next few seasons.

Still decent finishers of chances, but when they’re not created for them, they’re also the type of strikers who don’t create their own chances. A conundrum certainly, we miss Brooks or someone who can create something from nothing

Rubbish, your annoyance of the crap we just had to watch is being targeted in the wrong areas. I don’t remember a single ball being played infromt of any of strikers today to run onto apart from our one shot on goal , when Billy’s deflected shot was saved.

Plenty examples of our ‘ too old, too slow, too Injury prone’ strikers of doing exactly the opposite of the above.

They were given fuck all to feed off of today and it’s ben the same for the second half of this season. Our final ball delivery has been poor of late and fucking non-existent today.

Wrong set up today combined with poor effort levels and a brilliant ability to not be able to find a single white shirt with a pass is what makes our strikers look shit.

Can’t do anything without the ball. Doesn’t help then when the ball does come it’s 7ft in the air, a centre backs wet dream.

If Sharp hadn't been so greedy he could have easily squared it for an open net. Instead he took the shot, Hull scored minutes later and that's the fine line, a 1-0 win and 3 points could have easily gone the other way in that one instance.

Exactly, massively selfish from Billy, Fleck should have a tap in to take the lead.
Thought both strikers were both very poor. Yes they had no decent service but they didn’t hold up a single ball to take some pressure off. Can’t create a thing for themselves.

I remember 2 shots going nowhere near the net, don't know who had the chances

Our 3 main forwards are all ok. Capable of purple patches and just as capable of being marked out of a game.

We win and lose as a collective unit. We don't have the individual quality (Baldock, Duffy and Fleck of the regular starters come close) to win too many games without playing well

I thought that at the time (and was also distracted by the stray whistle) but looking back at it I think it looks less of a simple pass. Sharp’s had to wriggle free with the ball which has meant pushing it initially further out of reach to run on to (picture 1 below). At the point he reconnects with it their defender is already in a position that makes a pass tough unless he cuts it back behind Fleck (picture 2).

The opportunity to pass that was less forgivable was Leonard’s decision to take a ball first time rather than slip in the unmarked Baldock in the first half.

From where I was watching, Billy was blocked from making the pass by their defender, so had no choice but to shoot. Not saying you are wrong, I will have to watch the highlights.

Yep, agree with that, this was (to me) the best chance we had

I expect us to go out v reading and play like we used to, after all Chris says playoffs are over ;) if we don’t I’ll be gob smacked.

Tell you what, Dicko in a half-decent side would be a real handful. He was busy last night and with very little to work off. His attitude was very good, he could easily grumble and sulk with such little quality in the side around him but he kept working away, trying to create something for himself. Now, imagine his attitude in a team that actually creates chances...

Correct Kozzy he's exactly the type of player we need. Most of our centre forwards don't have the ability to make chances for themselves, particularly Sharp, they need the service. They won't always get good service that's why we are missing Brooks so much as he can make chances for himself. He will be gone this summer and that's why it's imperative we sign new blood up front.

A5190DDD-DF3E-4847-B565-DB6B69A5DBFF.png Perhaps also worth highlighting how abject the defending was for the goal, moments later.

Where to start?

1. There were 10 United players in the box and D yet the scorer was unmarked well before he found himself in 3 yards of space.

2. About 4 United men went for the same ball totally forgetting their responsibility to mark the players in the box.

3. There were United players strolling out of the box when there were unmarked Hull players and the ball was still around the penalty spot.

4. Jack O’Connell is a good example. And not the only one. He finds himself on the edge of the box, marking nobody, the ball behind him and the centre forward in three yards of space with an easy goal.

As poor as our possession and chance creation was, and as anonymous the forwards were, the defending from the corner was schoolboy stuff.
