1. Sharp
2. Sammon
3. Higdon
4. McNulty
5. Done
6. Adams
7. De Girolamo
8. Dom Calvert Lewin

Add that to the already existing Midfield overload and it's clear that we need to start moving on some players or we'll end up playing 1-5-5.

Adams - not really a striker
DCL - not a striker (and not really ready)
DDG - got a lot to prove

Add that Done is injured and can play on the flank.

And I also don't think McNulty nor Higdon are good enough to send us up (but should still get a chance to prove any nay sayers wrong as backup).

So I think we're okay overall, though I agree we should shift one or two on.

Connor Sammon as well? Bloody hell.

I am starting to question Adkins already.

What is DCL's position? Heard him mentioned as being in numerous positions. Am I right in thinking that DDG plays behind the main striker?

As I understand it he's been played all across midfield and 'in the slot' too. Don't think he's a typical striker anyway.

More the modern 'attacker'.

Maybe Adkins thinks attack is the best form of defence?

These 2 signings will defo mean one of Murphy or Done will be going. IMO
I highly doubt Murphy will after what Adkins said at the Q&A. He must have been pretty confident of holding onto him to come out with that or else the board will have egg on their faces over that. Done is not training right now so I doubt anyone is still planning on buying him off us. I reckon his injury is worse than feared.

5 proper strikers there in Sharp, Sammon, Done, McNulty, and Higdon. DCL and DDG I wouldn't really call out and out strikers that can be relied upon for first team football. Che Adams is more of a winger as well in my view. If we are to move any strikers on it would have to be Higdon and nobody else for me, then we'd have 4 solid strikers to be sure we have enough goals in the team.

As Colin would say, "you can't have enough strikers" :)

If we could have the same level of options at centre half (with proper centre halves, rather than stand ins) we should p!ss this division.

Striker overload? Do me a favour! Nowt wrong with packing a side with goal scorers IMO, it was a key to Bristol City storming out of this shite league last season - Baldock, JET,Wilbraham,Agard,Freeman etc etc.

I can see people nipping out for a slash during a game and missing three goals in the process! :D

I think you can see two obvious pairings there Sammon/McNulty and Sharp/Done. Not sure which is the A pairing at the moment, probably Sammon and Sharp. I'd like to see McNulty given a chance. Always thought Clough unfairly singled the lad out. Not that McNulty wasn't partly his own worst enemy at times, but he did score some interesting goals.

What is up with Done i.e. nature of injury and when did he sustain it?

I'm guessing from two strikers coming in that Done's injury is worse than anticipated ..... it has been rumoured that he's out 'till Xmas !
DCL, DDG & Adams are development players and I would expect DCL & DDG to go out on loan for 6 months soon. I would also expect Higdon to be moving on in the near future.

And I would guess that 1st in the que to be moved on will be Higdon. Difficult to see where he fits in with the capture of Salmon.

DDG and DCL will only be bit part players. Which leaves BS CS MMc MD and CE, two of which could easily be classed as strikers but not central strikers.

Add good supply from the likes of Flynn Murph etc and offensively at least, we look way stronger.

Clearly Adkins has moved around some of the furniture in his office and released some leftover Warnock DNA. A decade ago we had about 11 forwards over the season.

Higdon. You mean the only striker to score in a preseason game. Nothing wrong with having 5 strikers. Different strengths, weaknesses and attitudes for different game situations.. I thought Done was a winger who sometimes played upfront anyway.

Heres a new concept for some. The manager knows what he is doing and lets let him get on with it.
