Strangest place..........

Aged 11 in 1969 in the middle of the Indian Ocean on a tanker with a 3rd Engineer when we beat Newcastle in the League Cup. We'd gone back to his cabin to get the world service footie results. He supported St Mirren and I think they won that night too.

Celebrated at a braai (SA barbie) that we were having on the ship at the time wearing a red hat with a razor blade in it ! Fantastic result.

Happy days.

WalthamstowBlade, was that the Brit's Pub, somewhere in uptown? I worked there as a (not very good) waiter when it first opened in 1990. They hired me and my mate cos we had English accents. They used to serve big plates of Yorkshire puddings with curries and such like poured on top. By the way, hello my fellow Blades. I have been reading this stuff for years and have finally been inspired to write something.

We didn't get promoted that season.

Oh yeah, got my dates mixed up. I remember thinking we were going to do it after the win at Reading so it must be imprinted on my brain!
