Miller hasn't scored yet. Shall we get rid of him as well ?.In fact most of the players have been shit this season(hence our league position) so why single out one player who has scored 2 goals in the last 2 games and the other who has been marginally the best midfielder for us this season(which isn't saying much)?

doyle is a complete fraud of a footballer and captain ,if the new manager does not suss him out he will be another that looses his job .we are a team of pussies .

Porter was very close to being man of the match yesterday but still gets hammered yet Harry world class Maguire gets defended.

I really don't understand the criticism Porter has received over the last week. He's contributed more than anybody in the remaining 10 who were on display yesterday.

I think he has a bad game every time he steps on the pitch. You can call it what you like or stick a ribbon on it if you wish.
irrelevant he has been our best midfielder this season then.? (I would like to see McGinn next to him thou). His performane at Peterborough along with McGinn and Coady was excellant and he has been no where near our worse player this season
I think replacing Doyle is lower down the pecking order at the moment. I think a good centre half,a centre forward (with pace,strength who can play with his back to goal) and a winger in the 'Dane Whitehouse' mould are priorities

Or maybe he is now starting under our 5th manager since he signed (Adams, Wilson, Morgan, Weir, Clough) I would hazard a guess that those 5 names have tons more football experience than you do and so I'll take their word not yours.
For the record, what did Doyle actually do wrong yesterday? Did Porter do anything wrong?
Maguire has made more mistakes than any of our players but he's from Sheffield so all is forgiven.

He said last year "not getting promotion isnt an underachievement". No way I would want a captain to say this.
He is very one footed, too slow to run from box to box, too predictable with his passes, not strong enough to win physical challenges, not good in the air and not hurting the opposition enough. No way he is a leader!
He annoys me when he makes a captain's statement in the official site praising Wilson, Morgan, Weir and then Clough. He sounds like a creep in an effort to become the manager's pet

The issue for me is this: yes we've have had five managers, but the main constant are the players. They are collectively woeful. It would appear that you can't. Make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. It needs a complete clear out, in my humble opinion.

The thing with Doyle is his anonymity when the pressure is on.
I thought he wasn't anywhere near as bad on Saturday as some have claimed. But he's just another poor player whose qualifications to lead the team are as invisible as he often is.

Right where do we start,Adams Wilson Weir all sacked as this great club slips lower and lower ,Morgan doesnt count as hes only been caretaker and was never going to rock the boat by dropping him. Clough has been here 5 minutes but ill have a guess Doyle wont be captain by the end of the season .Doyle is a one paced none tackling non heading non vocal one footed average league one middy at best ,as for being captain have you ever seen him gee the team on or lead by example .porter Saturday showed more captain spirit than others i could mention .Maguire made a mistake as did George but i didn't see a arm round the shoulder or words of encouragement just the captain totting at his one pace back to the halfway line head down .as for footballing experience played 30 odd years hold coaching badges managed mens and ladies football and watched blades midfielders for 40 odd years , and hes not very good .

Chris Porter was one of our better players in the first half on Saturday. The criticism he is receiving is harsh. He scored a goal which was more than any other player did. And did you notice that the goal he scored was from a cross he could actually attack?

I've read him described as a ball winning midfielder who always wants the ball.
That is 50% right but it's not saying much when the part that is right is let down by shocking passing and control. He's only one notch up on passing/control from Monty who, let's face it, was far better at the ball winning. This idea that Doyle is a defensive midfielder who wins the ball back is a myth; I've yet to see him make a decisive number of tackles in a game for three years. Our defensive midfielder can not tackle. Every time an opposition midfielder runs at him, they go past him or he fouls them. If, by some miracle, he does win the ball, he plays us back into trouble or he puts it out of play for a goal kick or a throw in. He is dreadful.
In this division, getting a central midfielder who can defend (win tackles, break up play) as well as attack (creative, good passer, scores a goal or two) is a rarity and when one appears, they are quickly signed up by a higher team or promoted pretty quick. I understand that we aren't going to get a player like that so I'm happy with a defensive midfielder partnering an attacking midfielder in that central area. How can we expect Baxter or Cuvelier to flourish in the centre of our midfield if they're playing alongside that waster? McDonald was excellent in his first season in spite of Doyle because of the quality around him, i.e. Lowton, Williamson, Quinn, the Welsh fella who shall not be named. When they had all gone, McDonald struggled until he played a blinder vs. Notts County - with McGinn in the side for the first time.
I'd rather have Montgomery than Doyle. Honestly, I really would.
Stephen McGinn must be scratching his head at how he is not getting a game in there.
For me, play Lappin or Coady alongside McGinn, Baxter or Cuvelier. At home when we want to attack, you could even partner McGinn with Baxter or Cuvelier. Tell Doyle to do one or rot in the reserves.

once more i will trot this out because once more the same crap has been trotted out. it's just like monty all over again.
blades fans don't look for scapegoats.. they 'know' who is crap and who is letting the team down. if you don't want to be the scapegoat.. improve. in fact there are currently four scapegoats in the first 11 not one. Doyle, Collins, Flynn and Macmahon.. common denominator?? they are consistently crap.. our recent demise has coincided with Doyle and Collins arrival .. coincidence?
