The same thing happened even when we were top half of the championship. In fact, we’d just finished 3rd in the championship when we sold the Kyles one of whom must now be worth in the region of £30million.

I will admit that our Off the Field Business 'Management Team' are not very good at maximising outgoing players fees if you look at the Walker, Jagielka, Maguire examples some times they did ok with the fees for the likes of Slew and Mellis,
However, if Ramsdale is going to make it he would have stood a far better chance getting some senior games under his belt at the Lane rather than playing fourth fiddle behind Boruc, Federici, Ryan Alsop (24 years old) on loan over last four years to Coventry, Leyton Orient, Wycombe Wanderers and also at Bournemouth racking up nearly 90 League appearances !
It's really all about money nowadays isn't it ?

Our parachute payments had finished and Robson/Robinson had been allowed to sign a number of players on high wages and long contracts. A better manager would have handled it better but we had Blackwell and by selling the two Kyles, he could keep the rest of the squad.

With hindsight, I suspect he did so because deep down he knew he wasn't good at recruitment. So we sold two of our biggest assets to fund paying stupid wages to the likes of Monty and bought Evans instead of proper cover for Henderson.

Everyone running the club at that time made massive errors of judgement. It was a fucking shambles and just typing this has set me off again. Of course, the more pressure someone is under the more likely they are to make mistakes and it's easy to criticise with hindsight but FFS.

Silent is a top top man Woody ( and so are you in a differant way . You have just got to be less autocratic and respect other people's opinions even when they don't agree with yours )

A lot in that my Lord, but I just happen to notice that Silent posts 'like' on any post that disagrees with me, it's like a 'given''. Lecture him as well as me. I happen to think he's one of the best contributors on this forum. Shame really.:(:tumbleweed: I only know about 10 names on this forum, that's how I like it - study the post not the poster - but things like this can't escape one's notice. Having said that, it's up to him if that is what he needs to do, of course it is.

Tell you what my Lord, you tell me next time I'm being 'autocratic', it's not in my make-up actually. I just say what I think!, only occasionally these days too!

IMO Ramsdale would not have agreed to a new contracct in six months time
Yes, he is a fine prospect but under the present rules, Wilder took the best option in selling. May be we shall benefit further from a sell on clause when Ramsdale moves again.

Yes, another success story. Tons of time, energy and cost input, zero on field output, asset sold to cover the cost. Half the fan base up in arms.

When you sell every player for £1m and no more no less, you're bound to get some right and some very very wrong. There just seems to be an illusion at this club, amongst a lot of the working class fan base too, that £1m is a lot of money. It just isn't nowadays. £1m for a potential future England goal keeper is not good money. I accept that he's out of contract in the summer, but it does not change the fact that Bournemouth have had our pants down. Likewise DCL and Che
