Yup, we are dropping like a stone. Pretty obvious that if you lose payers like Coutts, Fleck and others the whole machine won't work properly.

If we have any ambitions about challenging for a playoff spot and coming past the first round at least, then best we get busy in the JTW to regenerate the midfield which Wilder's system relies on so much.

Even if we don't do this, as long as we finish about those shambolic fuckers and get the six points from them this season then I'll be content. Be honest. Is there anyone who thought we'd be in their position this season and they'd be in the top six?

For that reason alone, I'm not boo-hooing. It still has been a good season so far.

Shite run but really can't complain overall. Only worry I have is not getting the players we need in January. Imagine if we had to play that side today for a long period of time.

We've gone from being 'the best team we've seen this season' going to away venues and basically out footballing the opposition to being disappointing opponents whose fans are grateful for the points. We can change this. We need a Coutts replacement (and someone who is one-for-one, not fucking Carruthers#2) more than we need another striker. We also need a defensive everyman and some or other cover for the wingbacks. Give we've made some windfall cash from the Maguire/Walker deals and bought modestly in the summer, it isn't too much to expect some decent reinforcement to come in before 12 Jan.

We ended with a middle 3 of Lafferty, Lundstram and Slater.

Strength and quality strength in depth is imperative in this League, and this run is proving that.

Love Basham, but a Championship midfielder he ain't, and as for Lundstram and Carruthers, words fail me.
Wilder has got to work wonders to get owt at Villa with these to pick from in the engine room.

Not at all upset. What a great season so far and far better than I expected. I don't believe this bad run will continue and, to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure I want promotion. Otherwise next season will probably be one long "bad run".
