Ever closer? Where are we now, junction 35 on M1. I've never known a supposable transfer take so long, me personally wants us to be about as close as Australia is to Leeds on signing him:)

Got stung by that twat twice ,one of my earliest lessons in business ,never trust anyone.

Hasn't he been rising and falling for years? Went to jail. Came out and moved into High Peak Hall.

I'm reading Fit and Proper atm. At one point ( maybe the same sentence as above) he seemed to be a few million quid better off in perhaps not entirely legitimate ways - and got 15 months for it. Good deal.

Basically if you have resources then you can play the system. You take the hits if you push too far and your lawyers and accountants can't cover for you, but over all you can make a lot of money.

He was in the "open side" of wealstun prison near weatherby when a friend was also in, he was bullied and offered money for protection, not a lot of his fellow inmates liked him a great deal, best I heard of him was "a reet slimed git"
But he did insist he still had a load of cash stashed for his release.
Crime doesn't pay? Bollocks is doesn't he did less than a year for millions of pounds of fraud n tax evasion, a friend of a friend got 9 years for robbery without violence and netted less than £100 grand, most of which were recovered, British judicial system, best in the world, for protecting those with money.

But at least he's a Blade :-)

Well, er, yes...

Yes, if you wade through all the Wendy stories, Sharpe does get a mention. Worth a look at this story - Yes, Tynemouth Blade, this is a link to a story in The Star :D Leeds fans are givin' it large re. the ticket prices, but here's a reader's comment that proves not all Wendyites are delusional...

I think Chansiri has played a master stroke, Wednesday will start attracting the richer middle class supporters, all the low life's can go to the Lane. All we need now is a cocktail lounge under the stand, it will be nice rubbing shoulders with cocktail drinkers at half time instead of those common beer swillers.

Doesn't his son run Voice Marketing? Seems strange he's fiddling and his son is doing really well

I thought it was his brother - Anthony - who runs Ant Marketing? Whatever. Bent as fuck.

Presumably by 'low life's' (sic) he means 80% of their fan base?
Well, I suppose if they have a wesh they're welcome to come and watch some proper football at a stadium that isn't falling down.

Allegedly Stephens son left Ant Marketing and started Voice Marketing taking some of their customers. Seems like they don't mind screwing over their own family when it comes to business.

The other biggest crimes IMO was the legal system . When SH was in court , his defence cost were under the remit of the legal aid system , which was available at the time , for anyone in court who did not have the finances to fund there own defence . We the tax payers paid for it .

He may well have got legal aid, but if he was found guilty and had the resources to do so, he will have had to pay back the legal aid.

think your reverting to. "the have,s" & "have nots" syndrome, personally i am with the latter ! :(

Allegedly this was because the directors at Ant were told they had to forgo their bonuses by the MD of Ant (brother of Stephen) due to a lean time. The brother then turned up the following day in a brand new Range Rover.

I once delivered free papers to his house in Dore. He didn't want them but I wanted to neb.

At the time his helicopter was causing outrage in the letters pages of Dore to Door magazine.

:)

Hope his lawyer doesn't read this!

Not heard that before.

Anyway James has recently sold Voice.

Outsourcing giant Capita has snapped up booming Sheffield call centre company Voice Marketing.

Capita, which signed a £170m six-year deal to carry out services for Sheffield City Council in January, swooped for the Sheffield company, which employs 500.

Voice, which has offices in Woodseats and Broomhill, will now provide Capita ‘with sales and retention capability and complement the customer care capability within Capita Customer Management’.

It was formed in 2006 by chief executive James Hinchliffe.

Earlier this month he said they planned to hire 80 people in May - on top of the 230 staff hired so far this year - and were on track to a headcount of nearly 900.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the future of our business. It will enable us to grow further and faster with the backing of a larger business. We will have access to a wider client base and be able to offer more career progression opportunities and benefits for staff.”

Mike Barnard, executive director of Capita Customer Management, said: “Voice has an excellent reputation in the independent contact centre world. Together, we can offer clients a better choice.”

Capita has a giant office on the Parkway and large call centres in the Dearne Valley.

It carries out council services including HR and payroll, council tax and business rates collection and ICT provision as well as projects designed to raise revenue and save money.

And, in partnership with the council, it identifies ‘the potential to generate significant additional savings for the council over the life of the extended contract’.

Anthony is a really nice guy, looks after his employees and couldn't be more different to his brother who shafted hundreds of people when his empire went bust.
Over the years 'Steve' has taken many hard working self employed guys - electricians, plumbers, builders etc for mugs by getting them to do work and then not pay them. You are right in so far as he has used the system to his advantage but it is good to hear he has now had to ''down size'' to a house in Greenhill (no offence meant to people living in Greenhill by the way!). How the mighty have fallen.

Darren , is it me , when they are so many people at the time ,( who did and still do require legal aid ,) do not qualify due to -

Certain amount on capital in the bank . Was it £3K.

I believe the legal aid system has now been changed , which is a determent to all .Is this correct.

It appears to me , that even if you do have money , you could play the system , with having a dam good legal and account team , to be granted legal aid.

Its just a bit rich and frustrating , when anyone driving around in a Bentley and living in a mansion , can claim legal aid , but of course , everything is in the wife's name.

We also tend to forget the damage he did at Hull City.

Around 2000 the criminal legal aid system was changed so that everyone could apply for it without a means test, but if you were found guilty and had the means to do so, you then had to pay back the legal aid. A few years later, they then reverted to the old system where anyone which a disposable income of (roughly) over £20,000 per annum, you would then be ineligible for legal aid.

It's a myth that you will get a "damn good legal team" if you get legal aid. Criminal legal aid work is the lowest paid work in the legal world. Hence very few very good lawyers do that kind of work. Lawyers who do serious commercial fraud type cases will not do them on legal ad and will charge eye watering fees to their generally wealthy clients.

Blimey. I've been doing the job for the last 33 years and I don't think I've ever had an unsolicited testimonial quite like that.
