Stephen Bettis speaks to local Media

Why would the club get the point deduction? The debt isnt against the club.

I agree with you. I do still worry, however, that the 'authorities' will view the ownerships shenanigins as a smoke and mirrors job - clever trickery that might just be inside the laws, but which still feels wrong in spirit and intent, and will seek to punish us.

If the EFL punish us then they have let us down badly by giving them the green light in the "Fit and Proper" tests

I think the owners have the ability to pay ( which I understand to be a factor investigated in the 'fit and proper' tests), but that they are now haggling over the price - something that could not have reasonably been seen before the event.
The bottom line for me is that I have a deep disrrust of quasijudicial processes run by organisations such as the EFL. They're not particularly consistent or predictable with their approaches ( glances quickly across to the other side of the city!).
Fingers crossed that all works out well - we have challenges enough without a points deduction.

Independent regulator report says English football finances are 'dangerously exposed'

English football's finances are "dangerously exposed, with the majority of clubs living on the edge of financial disaster", a new report says.

Interesting article today on BBC regarding the financial mess of most clubs. It’s makes sense of our own cost cutting and the “reset” stated by Bettis, interesting that we seem to be getting ahead of the SCR rules a lot more than other clubs, hopefully this will benefit us in the long term…short term pain for long term gain and all that.

We already have one of those.

Just titles at the end of the day.

Is Dave McCarthy still there? Whats his role? Anyone know?

Yes, Head of Operations, whatever that entails.
He was out at the side of pitch for the half time stuff on Saturday.
