Half a game and he's already the new Pele, not like blades fans to get carried away or owt... :D

After all the good things said about the likes of Ironside, McFadz, Cuvelier and whoever else, maybe give the lad a few games before crowning him the best signing since the Magna Carta?

Ken, nicely considered comment mate. But with all the negatives that have been going on, not surprised at the glowing comments about Scougall, but as you say, let's see in another 8-12 games before acclaiming him Prince Stefan of BDTBL

Must admit I don't know who he plays for, but with Scougalls the signs are good...:)

To be fair,Mcfadzean hasnt had a proper look in all season.
Ironside doesnt look capable, cuvelier`s` face doesnt fit in under clough.
Brandy is shit and couldnt score in a brothel:eek:

He looks incredibly skinny. He needs a good meal. I wonder how he'll cope with the rough and tumble of our regular League One campaign?

He did do very well today though, in tricky circumstances, so fair play to him. And to the other debutants. And the rest of the team bar Doyle!

We've seen the YouTube clips and it's very early days but if he can bring that energy and skill to mix we'll have a good player.

Well done to the lad on his debut.

Must be one of the best days for debuts at the Lane eh?

UTB!

Why no Livingston on the list of teams supported when you sign up for this forum?!? A few Livi Lions will no doubt be taking a keen interest in The Blades now.Wee Scougs left with all our best wishes and I watched His debut with interest and pride, he's the real deal and a cracking lad too. A few young lads have left Livi for better things including Snodgrass Dorrans & Griffiths and Scougs is the best of the lot so look after him for us.

Not purposeful :), the list was made years ago an hasn't been updated since :)

Welcome to the forum.

Best debut since brian howard o_O

All jokes aside, Howard came on for his debut with the Blades 3-0 up and coasting, Scougall came on in entirely different circumstances. If his finishing or capacity for the final pass is half as good as his approach play he'll be a good player.

Glad to hear so many positive things about Scougs debut this afternoon.
I must agree with all LiviLion's comments above and whilist it's always sad to see our best players leave Livi he appeared to have made a good start to his Blades career. Don't worry about his size, or lack of, as he will be kicked and hacked but will always get up - no feigning of injury.
Whilst a player with great potential and talent one area of his game that does need improving is getting more goals but this will surely come.

Enjoy his ability and hope to hear good things of wee Scougs.

If you look over this site and other Blades' sites you'll see the praise young Stefan received for the way he played today. We all know it's early days, but the consensus was we've signed a proper player. Maybe you should get your management to suggest a pre-season game?

Good to hear from you mate, stay in touch UTB

If he continues in the way he started and performed today we have signed a very good player.
UTB

Started off raw, running round like a demented meerkat pointing at where he wanted the ball, but within ten minutes figured out the speed and style of the game which was mega impressive to see. From headless chicken to league one footballer in ten minutes was a promising debut. I regret to say that he is going to have to learn to "go down" a little more when pressured by opponents. Otherwise I like him. Hope he settles.

I reckon he could be a breath of fresh air, particularly in League 1, he's very quick, confident and unpredictable, exactly the sort of player we've been missing to really unsettle teams and create space for others to exploit.

Good business and shows that despite the interest from other clubs, we can still attract decent players, bottom of League 1 or not!

I do however have to say, that he very much resembles David Platt. Not the ex Villa and England star, but Gail's lad, the hairdresser

Hi folks,
Sorry about this but another Livi fan coming to have a wee check on how Scougs is getting on.
I’ve just had a gander over this thread and I’m loving the uncertainty from when the thread started to how folk are now coming round to thinking he might be a decent wee player for you. Understandable of course, because I doubt many of you would have been paying attention to the Scottish Championship.

Massively biased I know, but I think you’ve done a cracking bit of business getting him from us, I think he could have potentially made the step up to a lower championship side, but his size probably counted against him. Hopefully you’ll soon see his small stature doesn’t impede his game. We’ve been trying to get the ball down and play some decent football which I think has really helped bring Scougall’s game on as he has been key to this.

Anyway best of luck for the rest of the season and I hope he shows why us Livi fans feel he’s going to be some player.

Cheers Livjay..You look to have some decent players scanning through the Livi tv Highlights.I like the look of Marc McNulty up front aswell as one or two others,I agree that Scoug's size doesn't seem to hinder him to much,as he looks to have a great attitude and no fear.I love how he receives the ball and spins off his man and makes a few yards on him...think he'll be ok,I'd have no worries starting him against Posh on what I've seen so far...obviously he's going to struggle a bit when the balls in the air,but he makes a nuisance of himself and tries to nick the ball away.
Good Luck to Livi and UTB!

Hi LiviJay, we've had several threads from you guys, and welcome they are too.

I tend to trawl the Scottish leagues and both Stefan and young Gauld (Dundee United) have figured strongly in the ones to watch reports. I think that there was a little desperation creeping into some of the posts on here, mainly based on Stefan's physique. But from the moment the lad stepped onto the pitch you could see there was a determination about him that would serve him well. Sometimes people forget that size never prevented Iniesta, Xavi, Santi Cazorla, and far too many to mention here, from excelling at the game we all love.

We've had a few Scot's from lower league clubs, and they've either taken time to adjust, or have failed to impress. Young Stefan looks like he was born to play, and the consensus yesterday, after the game, was complete approval for his attitude and displays of skill. He'll be looked after down here. In Nigel Clough we now have a manager we feel can finally take SUFC onto better things. Guys like Scougall are the first part of what will be a dramatic rebuilding programme, so if that's the type of player we have to look forward to then the future is bright as far as we're concerned. Although it can be a tripwire to give praise so early in a player's career, to say that Scougall might turn out to be 'a decent wee player for you' could be an understatement. Even in the short time he was on the pitch Scougall showed tenacity, a willingness to engage in the physical side of the game, and the few touches of skill were a joy to watch. It's why football fans everywhere pay their hard earned money to see a player give his all. Here's to seeing Stefan deliver on that talent we both think is going to light up the English game.

Take care mate.
