No he isn’t. Henderson could have put the ball literally anywhere other than the place he did and we wouldn’t have conceded from it. The back pass didn’t stop Henderson smashing the ball down the pitch, which is what he should have done. Henderson decided to try and play clever and he got it wrong. It was entirely his fault and I’m willing to bet he’d tell you the exact same thing.

It was a shit pass from Egan at a crucial time of the game. Putting the keeper under unnecessary pressure.
Egan could have smashed it clear just as easily as the keeper.

Sorry, but both at fault.

And bet Egan was full of sorries to his keeper after the match.

Yes I imagine that he would have apologised in order to try to make Henderson feel a bit better. Despite which the fault was completely down to the keeper. He wasn't under pressure when he played the ball. He had choices and took the wrong one, that was his decision and no one elses.
On numerious occasions when a goal is conceded you can point the finger at someone, and that someone can quite often point his finger at some other player for something which happened just before he got involved.

Nothing is gained by that kind of pass the parcel blame laying. Responsibilty needs to be accepted not avoided. Henderson is a cracking keeper and will get even better in my opinion. He will have learned a harsh lesson and be all the better for it.
