The defending was laughable today
Whoever it was that watched that cross sail over their head needs a spell on the sidelines
 
There's fewer options in midfield making his inclusion an unfortunate necessity, but Lundstram's starting record is:

Started 9

Won 1

Drawn 1

Lost 7

Able replacement for Coutts and all that.
 
Yep but our record when Wright has played is phenomenal so why isnt he in the team ? Stearman looks dodgy but when u pay 900k for someone I guess they have to play
 
I’ll be honest everyone knows where I stand on this.

But Stearman was pretty good today. That said Wright should be starting ahead of him.
 
Don't get the Stearman v Wright debate. Both should have played today with Basham in midfield. All the goals we are conceding recently are coming down the left hand side. Stearman was our best player and Wright was on the bench.
 



I am sure Stearman would be better in a back four.

Unfortunately the rest of the squad is geared up for the 3-5-2 formation.

If we persist with three at the back then Wright has to come back in to the crucial central role. CCV is the real weakness no better than EEL who we decided would not be good enough for this level.
 
joc has been gash lately. i would play a back three of wright AND stearman plus ANOther
 
He's a fan favourite, but O'Connell's performances of late have been shoddy. He's lacking concentration as much as anything.

He's been great since he signed, but this is a bad patch.

I thought Stearman was our best defender today. He's getting better with more game time.
 
Stearman was our best player today.

Can't argue with that stat, but it's harsh to blame Stearman for those results.

Lundstram on the other hand.........
 
Stearman was our second best player today, after Moore (for his saves, not his kicking) 3rd Lundstram, no credit for anyone else.
 
I thought Clarke worked his arse off but a nobhead referee and shocking service made it a frustrating day for him

You could see his frustration towards the end with the poor quality of crosses coming in .

Our crossing is awful which considering we spend all game slowly working the ball out wide is a big disappointment

Yes there was no service but we were back to the begining of last season today as the opposite of a partnership. They were either too far apart or getting in each others way.
We were so easy to defend against, and their keeper could have brought a deckchair.
Understandable reasons with our 4 best midfielders out, and Clarke particularly has been awesome this season so lots of credit in the bank, just didn't add to it today, wasn't the only one.
 



Does anybody think we could contemplate a return to the Prem with players like Stearman come on
We’ll finish mid table tops with this squad tops
