WE do not wan to lose another player for the season through a major injury. We have to manage players that have knocks and tweaks.
If we need to rest players, better to rest them in games with teams BELOW us in the table so we can be at our strongest against teams ABOVE us, the teams we must overtake if we are going to get promoted

Great point! I reckon Hecky knew he was running the risk of losing against Millwall by making the changes but I would much rather lose against Millwall and have our best players ready for Forest and Boro. The negatives would have outweighed the positives if we put out our best 11 against Millwall and we had another injury.
 
The fact they were all on the bench should tell you just how serious the injuries were. I'm aware we're down to the bare bones but using your own analogy, yes I'd rather play the young uns in the play offs than not get there at all.
I remember one play-off when the best players we had were the two youngsters at full back- Walker and Naughton.
 
thats only just making the problem worse down the line, between Birmingham & Middlesborough its 9 games in 31 days. even man city at some point have to rotate its modern football
