Headline today that one Sheffield wednesday player makes 442 EFL list of best players

read the article and it goes on to mention that Sharp, MGW and a Rotherham player are also in.

why not a headline that states South Yorkshire players make prestigious list.

further proof of their piggy persuasions

Well like the pigs, The Star’s glory days are well and truly in the past. So it’s of little surprise.

They’ve probably worked out that pig fans love any kind of confirmation of them being “massive”, so pander to this for more clicks/paper sales.

I suppose its a bigger news that a league 1 Sheff Wed is in the list.
It's hardly news to know that we have players in the list.

Also I would have thought that the reporters attached to each club can write what ever they want.
You would expect each reporter to try to promote the subject matter (their club).
The United reporter (James Shield) obviously doesn't see it as a big deal and has other things to write about us.
Maybe the Wednesday reporter has used their initiative to find/ create news stories for his club.

I suppose the bias might come from the editor or whoever decided what the headlines are or which story becomes the main story
but you would expect neutrality and for them to choose what ever is the main story.
Do United currently have any news stories to compete against that headline?

The reality is, as ever, a lot more bland than the speculation :)

As you still read The Star, this should be another reason not to read their paper.

Star and Radio Sheffield both in the same bucket for me. Thier quality was on a downhill spiral for years to the point where I never consume either of them.

If a Wednesday player made a team of the week, I'm surprised it wasn't covered by the national press. It'd be up there with finding life on Mars in terms of surprise value.

Was it simply irony or just very carefully planned this was posted on Wednesday 🤷‍♀️

Sharp lower than Barlaser and Smith

I guess they've had to balance it across the leagues in fairness, but there's no way the list is right. There shouldn't be more than 4/5 players lower than CH level, let's face it.

EDIT - just realised the list was voted for by fans. There's the answer
