100% right your opinion. No disrespect to "Stan the Man", great servant to the club, great captain motivator, great CH at his level, never to be forgotten.Stan was great but Egan is different class in my opinion at leas
I loved Stan and owe a lot of happy memories to him, but he had the turning circle of the QE2. Egan copes with pace better. Stan was a proper captain though.
I compared Egan with the best centre half I’ve seen for the Blades, Paul McGrath.
McGrath was amazing to watch, his reading of the game and his pace over short distances was a pleasure.
But Egan stands above him. His performance at Man City was as good as I’ve seen.
He’s a rock
I’m telling you now. Best centre half to play for this clubBig call. Egan will have a fine career. Hopefully with us.

You beat me to it (as I knew you would) . Egan's got to play a few hundred more games for us before he enters the discussion. Would love to have seen Joe Shaw in the middle of a back 3.Agreed .
Apart from one .
Stan was a very big player for us but played most of his games in the lower leagues, Egan has stepped up to the best league in the world and taken to it like a duck to water. Different class and no contest I am afraid.
