DintNot sure Savile could be called far left.
Massive mates with 2 tier kier old jimmy wasI can't find the quote about Saville on here but he was a great mate of Margaret Thatcher and she loved him to bits. He spent New Years Day at Chequers with her on more than one occasion. Not far left then.
Don't know if it coming back but they binned that off when they were redesigning their big stand to allow extra home fan capacity. I know a few Fulham fans and they always complain about the tourists somehow getting tickets when you are supposed to be registered with x number of pointsI think Fulham have a part of a stand for neutrals
Kids matchday tickets now £20.Have you seen our match day prices these days?
Both Sheffield and Hallam Universities run marketing courses. It wouldn't be difficult to get some of their students on placements/work experience to do some of that research pretty much for free. It might even bring some fresh ideas into the Brains Trust that run United....He's a good example of what JJ talks about.
Just noticed on a FB page a post from "Premier league fan banter". There's a video at the recent Man City versus Watford league cup game and there are loads of FC Twente fans all sat together in large groups all around the stadium.
They were in Manchester due to playing Man Utd in the Europa cup on the Wednesday night
and many 100's must have thought they might as well go to watch the Man City game on the Tuesday night too.
Would this be possible at Bramall Lane, for 100's of Dutch fans to rock up a Bramall Lane and buy tickets, suspect not.
Makes me wonder if the SUFC fans group have had discussions about our strategy to increase the fanbase
and if we increased capacity to 40K, then how would we go about ensuring averages are over 35K? Do we have a policy regards attracting neutral fans? In many PL clubs they talk about 1000's of tourist supporters or PL supporters at every match. Does Sheffield ever attract these types of supporters, could it improve tourism, could a package be created involved Sheffield FC, Hallam FC, Sandygate etc.
Also there needs to be some research into the strategies other clubs have used.
For example never understood why any season ticket holder can't buy a minimum of 6 tickets, with no requirement to register anyone.
Are names and addresses kept just for admin purposes, so they can send promotional stuff thru the post?
Also what is our strategy regards students and does it work, what is the evidence it works, can it be evolved into something even better?
Fulham is an odd one. That half of the stand behind the goal has tended to be for a mix of home/neutrals/away overspill. Last season there was no segregation on the concourse below between both sides despite it being full of home fans.I think Fulham have a part of a stand for neutrals
and thats one of the reasons were not hitting 30k stupid pricing by united were getting very close to chansiriesque pricing at the lane as a club we havent a clue pr wiseKids matchday tickets now £20.
Twenty. Quid. For a kid. To go to one game.
Now, I get that it's in a very different league. But at Donny Rovers kids are a fiver. And they do voucher deals with local primary schools where kids can go free and accompanying adults get in for a tenner. That's how you get a new generation through the gate.
Might help if we had our own airport it is criminal that a city the size of Sheffield does not have it's own big AirportHe's a good example of what JJ talks about.

Absolutely, the fans of all clubs pay practically nothing towards the running and future success of the club, they get all precious about their contribution.I think the answer is easy - lack of bold owners with big money.
The club has barely been able to pay the wages required to sustain PL survival.
Double our gates and it's only an extra £6m pa , from which you need to service the loan taken out to build.
They probably think that anyone who isn’t up to getting a ticket under the current rules could possibly cause H&S issues for themselves and others while in the ground. Why are people so concerned about seats that aren't sold?
I'm pretty sure the clubs done all the maths and is convinced that any increased revenue by filling those at whatever price is outweighed by extra costs.
If the club aren't bothered why should we be ?
I agree that some of the pricing dynamics, practical difficulties will put off some potd fans but it seams to be just not worth the effort to change the logistics or price .
It seams pretty much everyone who really wants to get in gets in .
If the fans contribute "practically nothing", how does paying out tens of mullions to extend the ground help?Absolutely, the fans of all clubs pay practically nothing towards the running and future success of the club, they get all precious about their contribution.
Jock Stein said "Football without the fans is nothing"
In his day he was correct, the more fans a club got through the turnstiles the richer they were.
And United were as capable as any other of getting 40,000 and 50,000 given the right circumstances, so should have been more heavily involved in today's gravy train if the club had been run as something with a bit of potential instead of bending over and taking it up the shitter whenever anybody flashed 30 bob at one of our players.
Good question. If the fans contribute "practically nothing", how does paying out tens of mullions to extend the ground help?
I've no strong opinion either way, but JJBlade is almost obsessed by slagging both the club and the fans off, and in doing so in this one post, he seems to have tied himself in knots.Good question.
Last time we were in the championship our turnover was around £64m with around £10m of that from matchday revenue.
It's not ,hardly anything but it's not as significant as it used to be .
Hasn’t attended for years either.I've no strong opinion either way, but JJBlade is almost obsessed by slagging both the club and the fans off, and in doing so in this one post, he seems to have tied himself in knots.
I don't give a fuck whether they extend the stadium or not, This is a discussion about how it could be done, and how the club could attract new fans by not being a fucking retarded moronIf the fans contribute "practically nothing", how does paying out tens of mullions to extend the ground help?

Ahhhh, have you and your bestie Alcoblade decided to get together to see if you could change the narrative of the thread seeing as everybody so far agrees with me.Easy Tiger
For someone who dgaf you are easily wound up. Mind you, loads would be if we made ourselves look daft as you’ve just done.
Calm yourself fella, I think you're having another episode. I've genuinely no idea what your'e on about.Ahhhh, have you and your bestie Alcoblade decided to get together to see if you could change the narrative of the thread seeing as everybody so far agrees with me.
You’re placing a lot of faith in a club that’s almost twice being sold to fraudsters, that they’ll have done a full analysis on this. Why are people so concerned about seats that aren't sold?

The short answer is it doesn't.If the fans contribute "practically nothing", how does paying out tens of mullions to extend the ground help?
But then eventually your stadium becomes something akin to MillmoorThe short answer is it doesn't.
A double tick againI don't hate the club, it's unfair to hate retards.
I do however hate some of our fans because they're backward pricks
