Agree on most points. But if they were top of championship for most of season theyd smash 30k averages In. It been a cunt I just need to tell it how it is. And tbh I think deep down every body knows it
You love to big up Wendy’s support but they haven’t smashed 30k once in 56 years (even in their Middlewood Development Company glory years).

the reason wednesday can sell 45k tickets for a play off final is 2 fold theyve about 10k who only ever turn out for these one off games and their ticketing system allows anybody and everybodys granny to attend uniteds ticketing system is far too rigid and doesnt allow full families or one off fans to buy tickets for these big games united are still living in the 90s on this one
Historically Wednesday have always had a very high number of fickle fans. Why this should be I do not know. These ‘Woodwork Wednesdayites’ invariably crawl out when things are going well but they quickly absent themselves when performances are poor.

In the old days before all-seater stadiums and the consequent huge increase in season ticketing, most fans paid on the day. They were also much more reliant on public transport to get to and from the ground. Attendances were more variable and were as much affected by the weather and alternative domestic commitments as the performance of the team.

Consequently any historical comparison with anything which happened before the 1990s is like comparing apples with Thursdays.

Just make the Kop like this but with safe standing. Cantilever the roof.

Extend another tier on the South Stand, and those who want to sit can relocate in a section there.

To be honest, the plans that McCabe drew up ticked most of the boxes for me.

If money were no object I'd rebuild the Kop completely, but his Kop bolt on and second tier on the South Stand seemed to do everything we needed.

Just interested in what you (and others) think about the dressing rooms etc al,
It can't al be about the kop and other stands, is time for a new stadium ?
I'm not advocating for either I'm just posing the question

We would sell out if we were creative whatever the capacity, ads on buses for example. It's not rocket science.
There is an entire city and huge regional area that the club can attract from, they just choose not to do it. The fans agree with this short sightedness because "They're not proper Blades and shouldn't be allowed in".
Plus, they might not be familiar with siddarn and shurrup. They might see football as some sort of entertainment where people have fun. Perish the thought of these plastic bastards turning up and ruining a perfectly miserable fucking day.
I don't know any other club where this would happen.

About 10 years ago when Liverpool were getting 42,000 - 43,000 against a capacity of 44,000, why did they build a stadium to accommodate 62,000 when they already had a few hundred empty seats and it wasn't a complete sell out.

They've still got a few empty seats with a 62,000 capacity, so we should expect them to build up to 80,000 soon, and they'll still have a few empty seats each match.
But 79,347 is still better than 42,000.

It’d have to be a new stadium on the same site because there’s literally nowhere in Sheffield a new one could be built.

Like most old grounds there are blind spots, segregation issues, posts etc that stop a ground having maximum capacity attendances so 42k to 43k in a 44 k capacity ground seems feasible. I worked with a Liverpool supporter ( from Sheffield obviously) and he was on their waiting list for a season ticket. There were over 19k ahead of him in the queue. That’s why Liverpool can build a 62k capacity ground, and fill it.

You will all have summat to moan about when "Dynamic pricing " is introduced and season tickets are a thing of the past. It will be nice and cheap when we are shit but if we do every become good regulars will be replaced by tourists with deep pockets. We already pay more when say Man Utd are in town rather than Brentford but it could be taken to a whole new level like concerts etc where there is a limited amount of places they know they can charge whatever they want. Think owners will be bothered about fan loyalty think again Dynamic pricing is coming.

Telling truth isn’t bigging owt up. Ffs we live in a world where you speak truth your accused of been a pig or far right. There’s alsorts going wrong in this country so admitting Wednesday have got a very loyal or stupid fanbase is really not a problem in grand scheme of things lol

Somebody learnt about dynamic pricing last week I see.

never. I would hate the day if we ever moved. you cant recreate the history built over 125 years. would be an incredibly sad day if we ever left
All hypothetical, but a serious billionaire investor wouldn't have to move from Bramall Lane, it is a seriously big area.
Turn the stadium around 90 degrees and use the existing site plus the car park

even that. bramall lane is great. look at everton theyve given up all that history & heritage for an identitic stadium. the only people for me that moving is a good thing is spurs.

I only seem to notice your posts when you’re bigging up The MASSIVE fan base (except for you praising their new signing Max Lowe)

Weirdly enough this came up on my x feed.. 7 years ago!

Guessing it was one of KM dreams? We were Championship at the time.

As new stadia go, I reckon Everton will have a good’un.

But how many city centre grounds that nestle in amongst terraced housing are left standing? With every one that goes, football departs further from its roots.

Plus Leicester and Rotherham IMO 😊
rotherham is a very nice stadium admitally, probally the best of these modern stadiums ive been to

but my problem with leicester it lacks that uniqueness. i always think if you painted all the seats white. i dont think people would be able to tell difference between derby, cardiff (until the expansion) , Coventry, southampton, Hull, or Reading

Yes, but you have to have a waiting list available for people to join before you can have a waiting list.
Wolves have a 10,000 waiting list and I'm sure Palace, Brighton, Bournemouth and every other massive Premier League club in the country has one.

Many people on this forum have been in 50,000 + attendances at Bramall Lane, and a lot more that have been in an occasional 40 odd thousand attendance.

There are clubs that have got more than a century of home game attendances behind them that have barely even reached half of that, but they get to the Premier League and they can sell their stadium out every game and have a waiting list.

So, it stands to reason that United are doing many, many things wrong, and not catering for, enticing, or giving a shit about the "stay awayers" is one of them.

I'm just wondering how long they expect the only 28,000 fans we've got in the whole wide world to last, and more importantly who's going to replace them bearing in mind that they are the only 28,000 people on the planet with any of club retards precious loyalty points.

I was never a Kevin McCabe fan but will always give him his dues for when he did this against Wednesday.

Wendy had sold out the Bramall Lane lower tier and wanted to use the upper tier too. McCabe refused as we could get our own fans in the upper tier, even if it meant a lot of empty seats, so he refused Wendy's request leaving their fans fuming.

My dad used to say that’s what should have been done when plans were announced to build the South Stand. He said it for years.

Is your point that we should be extending the ground already?
