Stadium and facilities redevelopment post KMC

Fuck it I've been quiet so far but I can't hold my startling vision for the money no object Blades anymore.
First (the royal) we buy the Park Hill Flats quadrilateral (and the area to the north if that alone isn't big enough) and flatten the so called listed buildings there, I could stop at this point as that's already improved the city no end however we build a new mega stadium with 60, 70 or even a hundred thousand seats and safe standing areas in it. There'll be underground parking, over ground parking, Wombling free parking and an exit from the back of the railway station that goes to Blades Way the footpath directly to the ground with a pair of cross scimitars to walk under. A heli pad on top of the stadium for the wealthier clientele to enter and exit if they so desire and corporate boxes a plenty, and seats for the wealthy, middle classes and proletariat all priced so that match day is open to all. Inside the stadium the 'hot meat pies' will be hot and may have some meat in them. The away end will have freshly shat in sinks just for that true match day experience and any rowdy away fans will be waterboarded as kidney punching is a bit 'last year' now.

Day out with Villareal fans by coach to see Athletic BIlbaos San Mames stadium
Gobsmackingly good ground. Bilbao won 1-0 So going to be a quiet trip back. Was nice to see red and white stripes in a lovely stadium

That can’t be right, it’s a bowl so therefore soulless and obviously terrible.

Well, that’s what they say on here anyway ;)

WE could always move to the rust bucket as that holds 100k (except for the other night, but of course people not going out because of the corona virus). thoughts please (btw this is a bit of fun).

Reckon this is years off, priorities are next season’s money to buy the ground, upgrade shirecliffe and some squad additions. Also need to solidify our prem status and sell more tickets, thus making more ticket demand meaning increasing capacity would financially beneficial. Its all part of the masterplan.......

Can’t sell more tickets if the capacity doesn’t allow, I recon we could have sold more tickets this year when we sold out games, we would also be able to increase the season ticket cap with more capacity too.

increasing the capacity and stadium facilities is a must I’ve the next 2-5 years. ALL businesses need to grow to be successful.

If matches are going to be behind closed doors for the rest of the year, may be time to bulldoze the Kop and remove the underlying ground so we can get a nice head’s start on this...
It’s a very good point but I can’t see them being ready to go at this kind of notice. They could do the South stand before the start of next season.

If it were possible I would be in favour of sticking a large second tier above the existing tier on the John St. The bottom tier holds about 7k, the top tier could hold 5k.

Work could commence at the end of the season, with the demolition of the existing hospitality areas and the erection of a new steel frame. By the time the new season starts the existing seats could potentially still be in use, with only the loss of about 250 hospitality / box seats. Work could continue through the season.

I seem to remember in another thread someone saying that the existing frame couldn't support a second tier of any size - so it would be a big job, but for me would be the most aesthetically pleasing. The JSS is very small by PL standards.
Same company built it who built Barnsleys 2 tieres version there's is the better of the 2. Don't know if it's true that it can't have a second tier, I was under Impression it was built so it could be upgraded.

My brother lives just off Shoreham Street so passes the Lane on the way to get his shopping etc

They're doing some bits

Removing the old badge and signage from the monstrosity corner

And it seems like they're painting the 'pylon' bits on the South black.

Small but worthwhile improvements, particularly the South in my opinion.

Last thing the SS needs is more paint. If they want it to look anything like half decent they'd remove all that shite red and white cladding and have it back to bare concrete as it was intended to look

Think lack of doing anything to it for 40 years has ruined any chances of bare concrete. It's a bit mouldy and horrible.

I think the fact they've taken the Tony Currie Stand vinyl tarp thing down, indicates some more work is being done too, at least a proper sign but hopefully that 'T.......h.......e..............B.......l.......a.......d.......e.......s' is sorted out too. I'd rather they just have a nice Sheffield United Football Club on rails across the front of the stand.

Could do with the new badge being on there too, with it being the main stand and all!

Yeah, I wondered why that hadn't been done. The only reason I can think of is because that badge looks to be hand painted/done by a proper sign writer (not printed from a file), and has been there at least as long as I've been about, so maybe it's a sentimental thing?

Like a Mark Duffy contract negotiation, there’s no room for sentiment. Gerritoff stand.

That is what I'm talking about. It wouldn't be cheap (thousands not millions) but it would look x1000 times better. the "inner" concrete sections could be replaced with something slightly better than corrugated iron. Maybe in either red or white not both and then, like you said, some proper signage.

Any chance I can park outside his house? My knees aren't what they once were ...

Most clubs don't sell out absolutely totally, to be fair
Anfield holds 54,004 but they haven't had a 54,004 all season
Old Trafford holds 76,000, average attendance 73,393

There will always be an odd empty seat here and there, it doesn't mean that more can't be sold with stadium improvements. A few empty seats just means that it is impossible to get a decent ticket with somebody you know, easy remedy, sell them in twos instead of singles
