In a word yes. They have there are plenty of things wrong, though i don't think the blame lies with the clubs entirely the FA have a he'll of a lot to answer for and still do.

But clubs can only "control the controllable" (Puke :), but it sounded good in the Olympics). The FA, the coaching of youths at a young age (appalling IMHO), the opposition they play etc - they are all the givens that SUFC has to deal with.

We can't re write the status quo. It's accepting that environment that I'd agrue against us following a path too heavily reliant on local youth.

I think what may be overlooked is a high standard of general education at these academies.

This MUST be part of a football academy's curriculum. I suggest a few 'A'-levels would help a footballer.

At present, English players are for the most part dull and incapable of creative thought and therefore for instance ad hoc re-organisation on the field of play. Hence better educated lads say from Germany? run rings round us. They could start with languages........I think someone mentioned how few Englishmen play abroad, do you think one German, Dutch, French (OK I'll give you Ribéry) or Swedish international cannot speak English? and there won't be many Spaniards or Italians either.

Got to say I think we missed a trick not having an 'intellectually impaired' Team GB at the paralympic football tournament, we could have fielded a team from the Premiership, we'd have walked it.

John Terry would obviously have been Captain.

Its a few years back, 15 I think. Where most Pro/ Footballers in the English Game, came from the area of South Yorkshire. Not saying a lot for our Scouting System. That surprised Me.
