Big game today this in determining who will finish where in the table.
A draw is a good result for us but ideally we could do with a Leicester win. If Tottenham win then it certainly narrows our chances of moving up any position in the league.
Thoughts? What you hoping for?

I'm hoping that Leicester and Spurs both play as well as they did against us. Then it will be a comfortable Leicester win. That's the only good result for us. A draw puts Spurs 2 points ahead of us with 2 games to go. I'd rather it remain at 1 point like now.

I know most of us are really disappointed at our performance v Leicester, which was below par for us, but let's be reyt, Leicester are a very good team and they've not been in the top 3 or 4 all season for nothing. I hope they continue where they left off against us.

We can't catch Leicester, we can catch Spurs. Why would we want anything other than a Leicester win?

Cos bloody Arsenal threw a spanner in the works yesterday didn’t they haha. We could do with Man U finishing in the top 4 now. I think?? It’s all got very complicated 🤓

Everybody will disagree, but I think Leicester were the worst of the sides we have recently played. They have 3/4 excellent players who will probably move on. We were so bad that day we never gave ourselves a chance. Hopefully we win our two games and get 6th/7th which is what we deserve.
Spurs v Leicester will be a draw.

We need a Leicester win because that also means Chelsea have to win both remaining games - last of which is Wolves.

That's only relevant if they actually beat Man Utd or Chelsea in the final though.

We need something special to reach Europe, I don't think we will do it anyway, I'd like Liecester to win, but, we're going to finish in the top half of the prem in or first season, I for one am happy with that, it's atleast 7 places higher than I expected at the beginning and its a fantastic achievement.
If we do make Europe that would be amazing, do we have the squad to make something of it? Doubt it, but, we do have the formation and tactics to light it up if we want to.
Whatever happens, the past 4 seasons have been a rollercoaster ride, and long my it continue!!!

I think you guys have this a bit wrong.

If Arsenal win the FA Cup, it only goes down to 6th.
If Man United or Chelsea win the FA Cup, it goes down to 7th, regardless whether the cup winners finish 3rd, 4th or 5th.

We just need to finish in the top 7 (if Arsenal don't win the FA Cup), and top 6 (if they do).

It doesn't matter who finishes in the top 4.

So in short, don't get your hopes up.

Spurs will win as every result continues to go against us.

Whatever the result of this the equation remains the same for us.

We have to win our last two games and hope that Spurs drop points in one of theirs.

Hopefully it's this one, but if not it's still the same ball in our court.

There's a small chance that something weird happens if like Wolves win the Europa League, Chelsea finish 5th and win the Champions League. That would mean whoever finishes 4th and 6th would get Europa League qualification, rather than 6th and 7th - even if Arsenal win the FA Cup.

Then if this happens and Arsenal DO win the FA Cup, there's a tiny chance that even 6th doesn't get Europa League. 🤯

A hypothetical example probably best shows how fucked up it could end up being:

1. Liverpool (Champions League - through league position)
2. Man City (Champions League - through league position)
3. Leicester (Champions League - through league position)
4. Man United (Europa League - through league position)
5. Chelsea (Champions League - by winning Champions League)
6. Sheffield United
7. Tottenham
8. Wolves (Champions League - by winning Europa League)
9. Burnley
10. Arsenal (Europa League - by winning FA Cup)

So we could even finish 6th and not get Europa League 🤣

Given that Chelsea are 3.0 down from the 1st leg of their champions league match V Bayern played at Stamford Bridge I suspect that throws a spanner in your plans here !

That's what I said. The other poster said Arsenal winning put a spanner in the works, I said that if they lose the final then it makes no difference. If anyone but Arsenal wins the cup 7th is good enough for Europe (unless that weird Europa and Champions League winning scenario comes to pass)

Where was the 5 mins of var lines looking for a toenail that is offside? Corrupt man

I hate being right.

Hope those rumors about Rodgers being sacked are true, hasn't learnt from Liverpool with the way he sets up.
Having 3 of the back 4 or 4 of the back 5 injured, whichever way you look at it, is no excuse.

If you have 5 first teamers out Brendan, stop trying to play like Cruyff's Ajax.
Learn a bit from Dyche/Wilder.
The job is too big for him.

Apparently it was checked and Son was ok.

All a bit irrelevant now anyway.
