Is it me or is everyone fed up with our so called players spouting off to the press day in day out about being unlucky, ball not falling right, team spirit good, plenty of points to play for, blah, blah, blah
We've had Montgomery, Simonsen, Nosworthy, Cresswell,Quinn Birch, and now Ertl all coming out in the press saying 'Don't write us off' we are in there fighting - if their recent performances reflect their 'fighting spirit' then it's all cobblers.
They couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag - if that's their idea of fighting then I give up!
They have played sh!te all season, no passion, no belief, no heart and no idea!
I truly believed in Micky Adams but his recruits are all on a par with garbage and I believe listening to him that the game is up!
We're shot, a team of useless loanees and useless players backed by a useless board
Let's face it - the team is shit, the board is shit, don't insult our intellegence and come out in the press pleading with the fans to stick with it!
The team is not capable of getting out of the mire, couldn't create jack shit, couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo and couldn't stop a pig in a gennel
Rats and sinking ship - the ship sank months ago!!!

In a sense yes.....a little. Mainly because the reason where are in this position is because we are shit. Bad luck has been a small element of it and we have had some but hiding our other failings behind it is becoming a little tiresome.

You have to create your own luck at times, and it helps if most of the players do the simple things right first, i.e getting that first touch right, making the header in defence, or getting into dangerous positions in attack.

Exactly. Being positive and assertive all over the pitch. Something we dont do.

I would have far more time for the overpaid under skilled nomarks of players we have if they donated half their monthly salary to charity as a gesture - and they would all still be grossly overpaid!

Sometimes I get a bit fed up of it. Especially when a brand new loan player comes in and says "blah blah we are massive bl;ah blah we can stay up".

Other times I dont mind. The recent one in the star with Quinn was quite good and Ertl did one a while ago where he kept saying how proud he was to play for the blades which cheered me up.

Depends if they've approached the press or the other way round, which is more likely. Are they meant to tell the reporter to clear off, at which point they'll be accused of ignoring the fans. Can't win either way, either in the press or on the pitch.

On one hand the players/ management/ Board get slated when they say nothing, but then they answer the questions that journalists put to them and they get slated for spouting and moaning.

I can pretty much guarantee that the majority would rather not talk to the press, would you like to be questioned about your performance at work? Yes its part and parcel of being a sports "star" even at our level, but they are obviously not knocking down the door of the Star, Sun, Mirror or any other two bit publication.

Personally I don't read that much of this stuff, when I do i take it with a pinch of salt. Ertl says that they're fighting to stay up, who are you or I to argue?

On Sat it didn't look good, but on the other side Clough was pointing out that we worked our nuts off, didn't look like that to me, but then I guess he was building his part up as well.

The title of this thread is "Spouting off to the Press", when in reality the Press have just copied what is posted on the Official Blades Site, so why get uptight about it.
