The current silence from the club is deafening. I would like some sort of statement outlining what the plan is for the next few years. If its to be financial crisis management, as I suspect, then at least tell us,and be honest about why. It might even give us something to rally around. But holding that squad out as potential play off contenders is insulting.

Speed was clearly lied to, there is clearly no money to change this piss poor squad and we are clearly in deep shit incapable of even creating chances never mind scoring. I think our silent leaders are banking everything on this mystery investor providing some dosh for January. If I was Speed I would be starting to think long and hard about carrying on beyond that, he is on a hiding to nothing as things stand.

To be fair - how many clubs are there where there are no constraints?

Even if GS took the job and said " I don't like the squad", he can't do diddly til Jan. Even then he will struggle to offload anyone we have who he might not want or could free up some wages cos no-one will pay a fee or match the wages of someone he might want off the bill. Which means taking a chance on someone who might need time to develop. Surely all Champo clubs are looking for the next Kightly or Morisson (the Millwall lad) who are in non league but shouldn't be, and they are probably one in a hundred finds anyway.

I don't know the way but it won't be easy and it won't be pretty for a while.

I've been banging on about it for weeks now - but i just either get ignored or called a 'know nowt'. Speeds first few games showed signs that he was trying to change the football ethos. I knew it would be difficult with the players we had but really supported him as, in the long run, i felt this was the best way to go about things. Now he neither plays football, long ball, or any sort of ball. We are floundering around with little or no structure or pattern to any of our play.

That my chums is relegation football - then we really are in the shit!

And as for suggesting Speed gets some new players in now, may I point out the new idea in football called the "transfer window". If we don't want loans then we'll have to wait until January, unless the transfer window doesn't apply to us, or we sign some players that are out of contract, because nobody else wants them.

Yesterday was bad, really bad but new signings loan or perm wasn't the problem yesterday, and Speed needs to learn from that. If he wants money for some loan players he will have to drop kick Nosworthy back to Sunderland and spend that 12k more wisely. Hopefully Bartley will be fit enough to start next week.

Speed now has to play prison rules now. Anyone lets him down and they are out of his 11. He needs to find an 11 he can trust quickly. Anyone else who gets into the team after that will need to earn his trust.

Yesterday was down to the players, not Speed, us, loan signings, McCabe or Birch however we can bounce back next week if we all screw our heads on, and I mean all of us.

You make it sounds like we have kids on the bench. We don't have it as bad as others. Monty, Lowton, Ward, Evans, Bartley to name a few who didn't play either injured on bench or both and have Henderson and Williamson to come back. Whatever our 11 is it should be able to compete against anyone, which we certainly didn't do yesterday. We looked like we didn't know whether we wanted to play football or lump itand unfortunately did neither

Let's remember that at a similar point in their tenure, O'Driiscoll and Clough (N) were being hounded because of the toal shite that was being delivered. Through the cloud of desperation, all we need as a fewe key signings to get us on our way. Right now though, I can't see where the few key signings are coming from.

Yes because Britton was wonderful yesterday wasn't he? He's made a decent start to his time at the lane and at times in the first half yesterday he was the only man able to make time for himself on the ball and showed some class. His distribution wasn't great yesterday and he was often lost in the midfield.

However if he's the wonderful player that you talk about why would you suggest he rips up his contract? Surely if he's that good then our Property developers have done well to get him in and if we're in such a rapid decline then surely you'd want to keep him!

We are not asking for Arsenal type football - but actually trying to win games rather than being ultra defensive until we go behind would help. And we've been the same in virtually all Speed's games, not just yesterday. Blackwell, & Warnock in the end, were both too defensive and Speed is the same.

Having said that I agree he's inherited a very poor team - but that's due to several years of McCabe selling all our best players and not allowing the manager to replace them with any quality.
