To be honest it wasn’t that bad this year at Bramall lane was it?!? I’m not sticking up for them but there weren’t many seats that were screened off. I was shocked that they only blocked off about 3 rows where i was sat at the front of the lane end above their fans. The attendance was still over 30K wasn’t it?
I think their lot have a lot more gripe in regards to their stadium not being used better and the last thing i want is more pigs fans singing when we play away at their place
I don’t think they do have more of a gripe tbh. I’m not saying this just because it’s them but their stadium infrastructure is far more antiquated than Bramall Lane.
Their concourses on their best stand (South) are very narrow and dingy. I know this because they’ve said it themselves on their forums. They’ve even had to remove the telly’s because it couldn’t cope with people standing looking at them. I’ve also been around it, not on a matchday admittedly, and believe me it compares very poorly with its equivelant at the Lane.
Leppings Lane speaks for itself and should have been demolished after the disaster. Nothings been done except putting seats in as a result of the Taylor Report. It has supporting pillars all over it and is a stand not fit for purpose.I doubt you’d find a Wednesday fan who’d disagree.
By comparison the Lane end at the Lane has bright wide open concourses and wide exits, unrestricted viewing, modern facilities (such as hot water in the toilets) which Hillsborough doesn't (anywhere)
No idea about the North but have been on their kop and it’s more basic than the Lane which is saying something.
The exits from Hillsborough are poorly laid out and not sufficient. One side is hemmed in by the river meaning you have four sides of the ground exiting out of three sides. The kop and half the South stand exit onto Penistone road, a major route of the city.
As at the Lane the away end converges with the home fans coming from the South and North, part of the reason why our capacity is restricted as well. But I don’t think it’s the stadium layout or adequate facilities that restrict the capacity at the Lane.
It’s the half witted dickheads out looking for trouble why we have seats netted off.
Not the case at Hillsborough. They obviously have even more half witted dickheads than we do, but it’s the ‘stadium’ itself which is their biggest problem.
