Souza

I've heard it's a bad un! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he gets sorted during the break. As you say, we need him!

Was walking around alright before the derby, can't imagine it's a season ender or anything

Wilder has consistently said it’s nothing too serious and expects him back very soon.

Based on his past comments….that’s code for “out at least 2 months”.

To be honest think he’s said he needs to manage game time for players like Souza, Sereki, Hamer and Campbell etc.
The more they play the more likely they are to pick up injuries….the less they play the more likely they’ll become 100% fit.
Suspect Souza can play if we’re desperate and want to take risks but the more rest the better.

He was walking around fine after the game on Sunday. Peck even jumped on him. I didn't realise it was Souza till he took his hood off. Must be pretty alright to be getting involved in all that. Was also bouncing up and down on the 'Behind The Blades' video in the post-game celebrations

We were lucky that his run of 10-12 games in the team fell when we were desperately short of other options. We probably overplayed him then unfortunately. He’s a very decent player but his lack of availability is a major concern

If chesblade is right, that'll be another 6 games he'll have missed with his hamstring issues, to add to the circa 10 games he missed in Dec/Jan.
Over 1/3 of the season.

He's a huge loss.

Instead of Peck?
Absolutely. Peck has been great, but Davies is a level or two above.

However, Davies isn’t fully fit, and to get him fully match fit it will require a 10 minute cameo, then 20, then 30, then another 30, then start but only play 60. And that is only possible if the games pan out in a suitable way to allow that (which it won’t).

So Davies isn’t going to be a full starter again this season. The best we can hope for is for him to relieve Peck a few times to keep Peck fresh enough to start every game.

Real shame we haven't had a spell of having blaster, peck, Souza, hamza and Davies to rotate from as fully fit that's got to be the most depth we have had in that position in the championship!
On the flip side, without Arblaster's injury Peck probably wouldn't have got the opportunity to develop the way he has this year. He got thrown into the deep end out of necessity and he took his chance.

Shows you that sometimes it's all about getting the opportunity. Brooks for example gets barely any opportunities right now because he has BBD and JRS in front of him.

If I was you I would forget about Davies. Don't think his body is capable of becoming fully match fit anymore
