After last season i can't see beyond cooper so far but he is a very close 2nd along with Soutter what a player he is btw
I’m not sure Cooper has done enough yet to warrant that reward.

He’s definitely a good keeper & a huge step up from Foderingham, Grbic, Davies but he didn’t have to make a save for weeks when we were undefeated.

If we’re being extremely harsh is there a game you could say Cooper saved us in that one?

It’s the collective confidence of the defence so you could say all of them

I didn’t see his booking yesterday but fuck knows how he got away with another yellow in the second half when he stopped a counter from Stoke, I’m glad he did but I thought the ref was shite yesterday. Souza has been brilliant this season by the way.

I couldn't even tell you what the first yellow was for. He just brushed passed the Stoke player and got the ball.

After a while Stoke players just kept falling to the floor all the time. A bit of a sign they knew they were not really in the match at all.

I know this means absolutely nothing but I signed him on one of the latest updated versions of Championship Manager from Lommel and it was a bit of a punt and because he plays for us, as his attributes were quite contrasting. However he was amazing as a DMC. Usually the highest ratings for tackles per game over a season are about 5.5 but he was getting about 9.5! He can't be far off that in reality!

Saved us from bigger defeats against Leeds and Boro. I just feel confident when shots go in we have a quality keeper again reminds me of Henderson only difference is he is out player.

Keeping hold of him has certainly InCreased his value

I was saying that yesterday too. In the summer I’d have been delighted to ditch him for whatever we paid. Not now.

If he improves his passing and decision making (the two are linked and should come with experience), then there’s real profit potential.

He reminds me of prime Patrick Viera who controlled that Arsenal midfield. Big, dominant, strides the whole pitch working hard both offensively and defensively.

Mc Burnie's now departed and refs have now found another player to immedialtely look for when handing out yellow cards.

Considering all the necessary criteria Vini is my 'Starman of the Year' so far.
I think prime Viera is a stretch but I agree about the defensive similarity in how they play, however Viera could then drive on with the ball which we’ve not seen Vini do. Viera also got smarter with the bookings and chipped in with goals too. If he adds those three elements to his game then he’ll be a comfortable Premier League player at a very decent level.

I’m still getting flash backs to sitting in the pub pre Crystal Palace home game last season and looking at the line up, and the dawning reality.

Aye, working out that our midfield 3 was Norwood, Osborn and Bash - and probably the worst XI we’d put out in 2 years. Scary.

Given how consistently Vini hits the target with his long range efforts, similar to Arblaster (who scored from 2 of his), when are we going to see Vini score from one.

He's bound to score from one of them soon, surely?

If it wasn’t johannsen from Rotherham that would be in the cremorne car park

Great player when everything around him is going well.

The absolute worst player to have when things are going badly.

Any chance that things are going well because of him?
Souza's positioning as DM allows Arblaster to play higher up. At this level he is a beast. He snuffs out attacks by reading the game well, his ability to cover ground quickly and his attitude this season. His performance at the weekend was up there with the very best in terms of influence on the game.

When he plays he allows our team to play more compact between defense and attack.
JRS has the ability to influence the game but there is a lot of development needed. Selfish with the ball. But there is another issue that needs to be resolved to get the best out of him. When attacking down the other wing he is at least 10m back the field than where he should be. Saturday he could have scored easily but he wasn't where he should be and by the time he got to the ball he got closed down. You have to take the chance of getting into the box on the blindside.

If he can solve that problem then we could be an even better team. Souttar Cooper Burrows and Vini are playing well because they see and they react.

Best game for us yesterday, such a powerful performance. If we do go up I think he will be ready for the Premier League this time.
Yes. I thought he was our best player last night. All over the pitch, interceptions, great distribution. Clarke does not look an improvement on Gilchrist. In fact I thought we looked more solid there when Choudhury came on. Leeds punished us down our left hand side second half.

Souza was everywhere and it allowed Peck to get on the ball more, having one of his best games as well against a very good opposition that for 2/3's of the game, just didn't have an answer. I think i saw that peck put in the most crosses.

Souza was excellent. That idiot on comms was banging on about him going down easily, but he had the measure of Leeds in midfield.

He understandably tired towards the end and at 1-1 i actually thought swapping Souza for Brewster and bringing Davies into the middle would've helped. He'd run himself into the ground.

Huge positive that he's back

Best player on the pitch last night for me. Him and Peck are definitely our midfield 2 for the rest of the season - they work so well together & compliment each other extremely well. Having 2 in the middle who can actually disrupt the opposition and give us a solid platform to attack from is quite refreshing.

I'n my opinion, another man of the match performance yesterday. So strong and commanding in the middle and a superb cross for the opening goal. He was holding his hamstring a couple of times later on, hopefully it won't be anything serious.
