Souza class

He's been class this season, and I don't judge him from last season,as we were struggling all around, and never played in English football let alone in the prem..put him in a half decent prem team,I think he'd be ok.
i judge him on last season. Sure he was struggling like most of his team mates but his attitude was shameful.

We literally have a full season last year that proves you wrong on that, but okay.

Souza is a good Championship player, but to say he is Prem quality goes against all evidence that we witnessed with our own eyes.
When multiple variables change and are not controlled, it becomes difficult to ascertain which variable is causing the observed effects.

Role is a variable. Level is another. There are hundreds more.

This. There are many things besides ability that can affect performances. Being in a terrible team is one, moving to a new country is another, and being played out of position is a third.

Premier League teams will be looking at Souza's performances this season and feel pretty confident he can play at a higher level.

There were a lot slagging him last season out of frustration because it was fkin frustrating. I was glad he stayed in the summer because it was too early to judge. We did well to reject the £15 mill Fulham offered. This season he's been a lynchpin. A rock. Tracking back. Calm under pressure. Good distribution. Unlucky not to score today. It will come. Opposition players just bounce off him. He shrugs them off. Reminds me a bit of Victor Wanyama the ex-Celtic and Southampton midfielder. Arblaster plays better with Vini alongside him too. Better than that other Vinny we had. 😁

Souza made the 2nd most tackles in the PL last season, the number 1 went to Bayern for £47m. So not out of his depth in the PL. We were garbage with a worse manager.

Also impressed with his demeanour now

70mins Cooper made his first mistake with a dodgy pass, pulled off a great save to recover

Souza and 4 or 5 others all ran to Coops to pat him on back

Great teamwork
Yes I noticed that to . So much better than bollocking him in my opinion . He will have known he had dropped one without making him feel worse about it

He's gone from captain chaos to captain fantastic

Wrong. Far too simplistic a view. Last season didn’t prove that he’s not good enough for the PL. It proved that the collective wasn’t, but there remain questions over whether individual players might be if they were part of a better squad than ours was. That’s why there has been interest in him.

Excellent today,he’s cutting out those blind round the corner passes to give possession away, his timing in tackles is generally spot on,compliments Oli and Anel superbly, looking good.

Easily our best player this season. I reckon we'd be mid-table, at best, without him. He makes a huge difference to the players around him.

The worry, especially working on the assumption that there's no takeover, is that the Prince needs to raise money in January and he'll be the most in-demand target.

He's a total beast at this level. Surely one of the most athletic and dominating midfielders in the division.

One of those screamers of his is going to burst the back of the net soon as well. Imagine if it's against the Pigs.

Had another tackle today just like the one he got booked for. Could be red that and another suspension. Luckily the ref wasn't consistant
Would have been a bit harsh but yes he was certainly walking a tightrope.

Our best player this season IMO, with Cooper and Souttar. Absolutely the difference in midfield. Gritty, athletic and calms/breaks the play up. Hope it continues and we see his worth the season. Join me in the boooozeeer

He's always been good at one-on-one type defending, but he seems to have improved positionally and in possession. I was all for selling him in the summer, but he's generally been very good.
