Thought he was excellent today. Doesn't panic uses his size and always looks like he's aware of what's happening around him. Trusty had a couple of wobbles but looked a lot better with the calming influence of Souttar helping him out.

Not sure if Souttar's the talker we've needed in there but we looked a lot better than we have done for a while. Robbo and Anel always give the impression they're playing for themselves, or even with themselves on occasion but the two in the middle looked pretty organised most of the game.

The goal was poor but that started with no closing down in the middle so who knows, these two might be the start of a settled central defence.

Big Harry is quickly becoming my favourite player

souttar motm today with gilchrist running him close where have all the gilchrist critics after last week gone tonight slimane can go for me not up to the physicality of the english game also thought o'hare was poor today i would have had him off sooner

Aggressive and decent on the ball, but he played too high a line on 3 occasions in the first half which could have cost us. Promising overall.

Tbh I thought it said quite a bit that we replaced our entire CB unit, and looked no worse.

He's a starter for me
It shows that if you can get £10-15m for Anel it’s money we can spend elsewhere when we have his replacement ready. Another CB would need to come in or RB & then we’re looking at LW, Striker & CM.

4 to get for me, but we won’t do that without selling somone

99% of blades want to sell Anel, for the money we're getting quoted. We need a RB, CB already covered.

Let me just put this right here, Trusty isn’t , never has been & never will be the ANSWER.
Same with Slimane.

Slimane I'll give you, I haven't seen a single thing that suggests he should be anywhere near the first team. Trusty, I'm waiting for the lad who came to us with glowing references to show himself. Definitely wasn't ready for the Premier League but I'm hoping with help at the side of him he'll develop into a player. Jury's out.

If you move Gilchrist in then you’re right we don’t need another, but he was very good today. We can’t go forward with 3

He'd be best in the middle of a 3 and Gilchrist / Souttar / Robinson would be our best defence. With McCallum at LWB

Already looks composed and assured.

Add pace and he’s a £75m player at a top 6 club.

Impressed 👍.

Proper centre halves performance today.

Must just be me then. Because I thought Brooks was absolutely phenomenal
That second half when he basically took 3 of them out.

He’s really coming into his own. I hope the transfer dealings don’t put an end to his growth.

Once he gets a bit of final ball selection right and gets a goal, you can see his confidence rocketing.

It was his excellent play that lead to the goal.

I'm thinking him on left and rak sakyi on right with a more mobile front man and that's formidable

He’s by far our best centre half. This solidifies him as 1+another

Absolutely Frank Brooks was class today idve gone for Gilchrist MOTM closely followed by Brooks. Souttar grew into the game I thought most of his tackles interceptions were recoveries 🤷🏼‍♂️ Trusty jury still definitely out.

Cracking game today. Monumental in defence and not far off scoring either.

Brookes on the left makes a lot of sense. He would be able to cross on his natural foot without checking back inside which would play to Moore's strength. He tracks back well so could provide more cover for Burrows than Hamer does. And it would free Hamer up to play more centrally.

Problem then is do hamer and blaster offer any protection to back four
I honestly don't know but I'm not sure souza is either

Agree it becomes difficult to pick our preferred central three. It's a good problem to have. Right now I would move Hamer into CAM and have O'Hare on the bench. That will change based on form, fitness, and opposition during the season.
