The Asian Cup run from January 7th to February 5th. Assuming Souttar will join up with Australia at least a week before (it may be more), I'd have him missing up to 6 league games (plus 1 or 2 FA Cup) if Australia go deep into it. It's also in Saudi Arabia so it'll be hot you would think and he might need some time to recover after.

Agreed but they had us by the goolies didn’t they. I mean we weren’t exactly poker faced were we? It’s a huge gamble by the club but if we did manage to keep Souttar and Phillips fit which are too massive if’s we stand a chance of doing something but it will need a lot of good fortune looking at their respective records for that to happen.

10 million isn’t the same as 10 million in 2018. Inflated fees all round, not just us. So either there’s money or we’re gambling. Based on the success business wise of our money men, i’d doubt they’d do that. But you never know. Not worth moaning about.

Surely people understand why there is some doubt with these signings? It's not like people are just saying "shit" about players they don't know. Phillips played for us last season and it was a disaster whilst Souttar has played 2 league games since he got injured against Burnley 2 years ago.

They could both turn out to be inspired signings just like Didzy was. There's definitely a world where other clubs are looking at us and wondering how they let us pick up 2 Premier League class players so easily. There's also definitely a world where they play 10 games between them. These signings are objectively risks but they are ones where the best‑case scenario isn’t just good, it’s genuinely transformative.
