I think we should keep McEveley for another season, even if only as a squad player. Since Xmas he has been our best player (not saying much I know). Whilst he was poor yesterday, we shouldn't get rid on one performance. Also, we don't k ow who will be coming in over the summer, it isn't easy to build up a completely new squad. I think he should still have a role with us.
I agree that in general his performaces have been better, he still has a horror or two in him every game, be it a bad tackle, or a pass across the front of the box like Wednesday night.
However he's by no means captain material, not once I have I seen him motivating the team when we've gone behind, or giving instructions. He's head goes down and hides even more. I think that's been a major problem of season. Not a single leader out there. i don't think giving it Billy is the answer either, he's got enough on his plate dropping deeper for the ball and doing the jobs beyond his remit.
