Whose going where?
Hmmnn. Since I'm driving I'm not sure I'll go as far as Leigh. Might have to risk a local one to the ground, pre game. Apaz there's a really good F&C shop nearby too.
Mrs Ken and I had a nice meal in The Mews, 2 Nelson Mews, Southend and there was some really nice ales on. That's an option
Trip Advisor mentions a Turkish grill house - sounds good, too
Istanbul Turkish BBQ Restaurant Takeaway 34 York Road, SS1 2BD
Ah, but after a 2.5 hour drive, all I want to do is sit and sup, Ollie. If you are coming from the West then surely Leigh is on the way (kind of). It's 3 miles from Roots Hall so not far.
Is it still standing? I have seat numbers on my tickets.
i live in colchester this is almost a home game for me. got tickets this morning. as someone said earlier prittlewell station closest to the ground, pubs and chippy on way to ground. oh and southend is a shithole full of chavs![]()

The Magpie on New Street (straight across from the station is pretty good), as is the Wetherspoons on the station itself.Any advice on boozers round Liverpool Street? Going to get there for 1100hrs! Need a good away day before I head back to Eye Rack
Driving down from Sheff & doing a bit of a straw poll due to indecisiveness - M1 or A1M
Where are people drinking near the ground? Doesn't seem to be too much that nearby.
I enjoyed a very nice meal here before the game last year.
