I think it was our best game this season
i had the impression that we had more shots and touches in their box than the whole Selas era
as anyone got the figures

Do you think he’ll score eight in twenty here? Or maybe it were a purple patch?
Well, he also scored nine in twenty two at Stoke, so it looks like he's capable of repeating it.

Given the evidence, I think he's capable of doing the same for us, yes. At the moment, he's playing poorly and not looking like that player. He may never look like that player for us but go and do it elsewhere again. He may never look like that player again for any club. Who knows.

Given we've spent a significant fee to bring him in and he's previously looked capable of performing at the level, I don't agree with you and most others that were should just bin him off now and take the loss. Even if we'd only paid 500k for him, given what we know he can do it'd be worth putting in the effort to tease it out, especially when our options are so limited.

I agree it would be interesting to know whether Cannon looks brilliant in training, or whether it is just Wilder being stubborn and wanting to 'prove' his eye for a player.

As I said above, we don't have a lot of other options (more COH/Selles abysmal decision making), but if we do put Cannon on, he needs service. He didn't get that last night.

We need this version of him back🔥

I getting to the point where I think one of the kids would would offer for the last 15 minutes… Oné obviously but even Marsh or Beattie.

I don’t think he’s capable of doing it in this system, this style at this club personally. We’d heard from Stoke fans he lacks intelligence to understand basic coaching. Don’t you think we’re pissing in the wind in trying to get him to learn how we want him to play? Even putting that aside, I can’t recall a good performance. He’s looked genuinely woeful at every single appearance. It’s genuinely laughable to watch. Hoping he can somehow turn it round (we know he’ll get the chances.. unfortunately imo)

This is all I'm after. Rather than being baffled as to why anyone would play him, calling the manger incompetent and creating conspiracies about him being corrupt, you've suggested that, in your opinion, you don't think he'll reach his previous level at our club. Nowt wrong with fans having opinions or stating them publicly.

You can hold that opinion whilst also accepting that the evidence suggests otherwise, and that the professional coaches and scouts at PNE, Stoke, Blades and Leicester (who also paid a significant fee for him) know more about Tom Cannon and football than any of us.

In my opinion, he's looked poor. I'm happy put more effort into him at the moment because our options are also poor. Eventually, when our options are better and if he's still shown little in a Blades shirt, I'd drop him and look to loan him out.

I think we played ok, undone by them all standing watching when the header came back off the bar and a goal where you have to hold your hands up and applaud. That and the ref who was all over the show.

If we keep on with those sort of performances, we'll be alright but I think we can wave goodbye to the play offs short of a dramatic upturn in form and some gems being unearthed in January.

Tom Davies was excellent as he normally is on the rare occasion that he plays. O'Hare seemed to be a bit more lively and looking to try and score rather than be simply the first line of defence.

Still not sold on McGuinness though but at least we have a few more options at the back now - not sure he's the answer. Big lad who never seems to be where the ball is when its coming into the box

If the owners are willing to chuck the odd bit of money around then why not chuck some at Souttar when he gets back fit? He and Tanganga as a combo would be a great base to work from once Bindon and Godfrey go back at the end of the season (or sooner with any luck).

4 in on 1 game 3 of which were penalties total 5 in 21 games

No, only one was a penalty, plus a direct free kick, a shot from the edge of the box, and a well taken goal from getting on the end of an excellent through ball into the box.

I'm not defending his performances here, but there's a player in there. He's 22 and no doubt his confidence is shot.

I never said he was quick, skillful or strong, I said he'd scored plenty of goals at this level.

Other strikers at the club aren't fit. I assume you know this, but then choose to forget it when talking about Cannon.
One is fit and Marsh and Beattie are other potential options.
None of them are going to come through without opportunities and they must be scratching their heads (Beattie less so) at how Cannon is getting consistent game time.
One in particular is being very harshly treated.

We played ok, it was an average performance with some piss poor finishing and defending thrown in for good measure and the twat of a red certainly not helping anything.

We still managed to squander a 1 goal lead and made Ross Stewart look like prime Lewandowski.

It’s a reach to say it was a ‘good performance’ but it was certainly an improvement on the dirge we’ve seen previously.
