So another defeat and now 6/6.

We have changed manager, so we can't do that again for a while.

What is the solution to our current predicament?

New Formation? 3-5-2?

Who playing where?

The biggest problem we have is that our confidence is totally shot. In any team if you get on a good or bad run, you assume it will continue.

We have to break ourselves out of that.

Yes we could get angry and rant against the board, the players and even Wilder, but it won't solve anything.

We need to move forward together. Hope feels gone but we need to salvage something from this season. There are 40 more league matches left.

Up the Blades.

I’d suggest public flogging of the players.

They’ve no excuse now.

Paid a hell of a lot of money and can’t even get shots on targets. It’s lazy and unprofessional to be so bad in front of goal. Lack of concentration, effort, composure. Call it what you will.

Scoring 1.3% of your shots is unacceptable.

My solutions;

1. Get the players in tomorrow and run run run. The level of fitness is shocking. Charlton out ran us today. We had the fourth worst stats in the league. I suspect we haven't bettered that after today.
2. Appoint a leader and experienced player as Captain. Has to be Ben Mee for me.
3. Resurrect the senior players group and make them accountable for team morale.
4. Change formation in the short term at least to 3 at the back. We need to try it out. At least we can get wing backs up the pitch. Tanganga is capable of playing the Basham role bombing forward down the right as an over lapping CB imo.
5. Go 3-4-1-2. Hamer or Chong as a 10. Don't play Hamer out wide.
6. We need two players up top. We create very little.
7. Pick players for the formation not because they were here last season. Hamer, Peck and COH in the middle doesn't work. Play left footers on the left right footers on the right.
8. Play front foot football away to Oxford. Lets go gung ho despite the manager saying post match we can't do that. Why not we've created nothing all season. They will adopt hoofwaffen as they did last year. 3 at the back will counter that.
9. Recognise Ben Godfrey is not a full back or wing back. He's a CB at best.

Agree with that. Nice work mate.

Very good points re. our formation. We just don't seem to have the players to play a flat back 4 effectively and we don't have an effective lone striker at the minute.
We've been toothless all season. A 3-4-1-2 formation would surely make us more creative.

Have Ogebene shoot on sight when he gets the chance , overplayed the ball today trying to put someone in on goal when he had an opening himself . Also need to see if there are any free agents that can come in as a Kieffer Moore replacement as Danny Ings won’t be available week in week out .. I hope I am wrong . But we need to have strength in depth in the centre forward position .

Just ignore Godfrey. Whatever he had, he no longer has. Bindon has been poor but even he's better than Godfrey.

At least one of the CMs has to be willing to at least try and occasional forward pass. If any of the back 6, other than Burrows has the ball the opposition knows it'll be backwards, sideways or hoof. Matos is poor technically but he at least carried it forwards a couple of times. From deeper areas, Peck either will not, cannot or has been told not to play attacking passes.

If we do insist on playing Matos and Peck together again, go 2 up front. Zero point having a 10/central link player when you flat out refuse to play a forward pass to a central area. Go long, hope Oné can learn on the job

Hope to God Ogbene gets back to some kind of effectiveness soon. Barry can't play.

Only January can save us. A million miles off and it isn't salvageable with the current personnel. We need to grind as many points our as possible and I mean grind.

The squad we have now screams 3-5-2.
I hope Wilder isn't hellbent and too stubborn to carry on with the modern phenomenon of 4-2-3-1.
I for one would like to see a return to the overlapping CB system with Gus, Campbell and Ings playing as 10's and 9's.
