I actually agree with him to a point in that Sharp’s was more of a foul than Maguire’s. Don’t think there was enough in either to actually be a foul though, so we got away with it a bit.

Their disallowed goal was a shambles and I would have been annoyed had it gone the other way; why he didn’t wait one further second to blow when linesmen now wait an age to flag is beyond me. Glad he did of course.

The fact is, our goal went to VAR - that's 3 officials on the pitch and another in a cosy room watching it countless times on telly, and after detailed scrutiny the goal was given . So it's a GOAL! End of!

Their "goal" wasn't a goal because the referee believed he saw a foul, you know the way that refs do, like what they get paid for and that? He blew his whistle and the ball was then kicked into the net. Is he supposed to wait and see every time there's a foul anywhere near the box to see if the ball ends in the net and pass the decision to VAR? What a crock of shyte. One person's opinion in a delegate's report isn't worth any more than a fan in the ground. "Oh it's so unfair" Feck off man.

Let's be clear they didn't have a goal disallowed. The whistle had already gone for a foul. It's like repeatedly putting the ball in the net after the whistle has gone for offside then saying we lost one nil but we had nine goals disallowed.

Correct and fouls on keepers are given almost every time that an attacker jumps with them and the keeper doesn't get it. The keeper's hands being above the head of the attacker means he is considered the one in possession, even if his hands aren't on it - just like an outfield player shielding the ball. If you have to go through the player to get to the ball, it's a foul - and that's what Maguire did, he went through the keeper to get to the ball.
I tend to think keepers are over-protected these days, but if these type of challenges are going to be given as a foul normally then it was right to be given this time. Not a disallowed goal, but a foul on the keeper.

I'm glad the report said that and it still rankles with him that he lost to the team at the bottom and can't get over it.
Maybe he could request the report from 2007 too and see what it says about that challenge on Luton Shelton if these things are so bloody important to him.
