Listening to RS... it sounds like most Blades fans are ready to commit mass suicide in the car park.

So what do you do?

Well... what can you?

As far as I can see, the only "protest" there is... is to withdraw your custom as you would with any business you are unhappy with. If a supermarket, insurance company or newspaper (i.e. any that Fatty Samuel writes for) pisses you off, you just don't buy it.

Otherwise, you contact the club directly and let your displeasure be known in a sensible way to the people that can actually change it. Don't rant because ranters sound ridiculous. Just stick to the facts as you see them and ask for a reasonable response. This is a lot braver than mouthing off on an internet forum and could bring about the changes you want... or at least give you reasons from the horse's mouth why what you do want isn't feasible.

Or look on the bright side of life. Killa and Naughton are still Sheffield United players. Carry on going to the matches and cheer up.

So what are you doing? :)

I don't think I really need to answer...

I'll be there come Saturday. As I expect you will be Linz
Hope not expectation

Oh indeed... isn't it wonderful being a Blade.

Those who don't suffer hardships don't appreciate success when (if?) it happens :D

UTB indeed.

And SV...

A piss bag could be the answer to your bladder's needs :D

I suppose it depends how important they are in your life.

There are more important things than football... but for me, there's nothing that's quite so much fun. If our attendance was based purely on how United had performed over our lifetime, I don't think any of us would actually be there :D

Have you noticed that as the standard of football declines, the standard of "taking the piss" generally improves? That's why you never see a grumpy conference football fan :D

Shit football = funnier than watching kittens on You've Been Framed or ducks/old ladies on ice.

I'm sure HappyHippy will have something to say here.

Yes the old grounds - the small grounds - the basic footy has a lot going for it.

Fans that understand the game too!

:)

I'll be renewing next season as I love the Blades but have felt this season has been a huge disappointment (so far). It wouldn't be so bad if the management didn't build the team's chances up so much - football fans can always be accused of being overly optimistic but I don't think McCabe & co. have helped to limit our expectations.

However, the January transfer window has cleared things up :)

The thing is, they can't turn round and say "we're shit" like we can... because can you imagine the uproar if they did? :D

Very true, but at least then we could be sure we were all watching the same team :)

If I was being very sceptical I could say it was all just a ploy to sell season tickets but I wouldn't do that :)

Mr McCabe in my opinion choose his words better.

Yeah... I don't deny that. United's dealings with the press have been shoddy for years. We need a spokesman well versed on public speaking and the nuances that could be interpreted from what you say.

Woah I don't think we have become like Wednesday just yet. :)

I love saturdays when United are at home.

The problem is, the match ruins the day haha. The best bit is the pub, and then the hot dog. I think you could do both of them without the season ticket.....

Still....no doubt I'll see/lose my sense's and go renew. Its just looking like being 2 years of disappointment....but still theres hope this year....just think we only just missed out last year and that was with Beattie, Sharp, Webber, Hulse and Stead upfront. Now our strike force is Henderson, Sharp, Webber, Ward and Lupoli.....well it should be doddle...right?

Look at the alternatives, looking after kids, shoppping at Meadowhell, all of a sudden the season ticket seems good value to me.:D

Exactly, what else we all gonna do on a saturday. We,re a medium sized, mediocre club nowt more, nowt less. We'll prob never win the FA.cup in my life, or win the league, just a handfull of promotions and relegations but we love em no matter what. It don't look like it at the mo but we could have a finish to the season like last year?
I know we aint signed any big hitters in the window so we need to just get behind what we've got and concentrate on beating them bastards from s6. I'll be re-newing my season ticket no questions asked.

Spot on mate, I'll be renewing regardless (providing I've still got a job). I've seen them in a lot worse state than this. Once a Blade, always a Blade. I admit, it is a bit boring at the mo but look what happened to Forest, Derby,Leeds etc. when they came down from the Prem. I'd rather be where we are. If it doesn't work, dust yourself off and start again.

When Young BB asks why we keep going when it's rubbish, I simply reply "cos we're Blades, Son". He'll learn, one day.

The only thing I want is to dump the hoofball.

Poll added with no fence-sitting.

As it stands now and other factors (money, babies etc.) allowing, will you be attending matches and/or renewing your season ticket next season?

I haven't decided yet you bully!

;)

i've go another baby on way and had a ridicolous drop in my wages but i shall be renewing, and my 2 yr old should be joining me nxt year (well he'll be nearly 3). When we gonna find out the renewal price, any one know? i haven't heard a thing yet, cant remember when they told us before. (short memory span)

They've usually finalised info around March time... Last I heard, they were close to having sorted it.

If the ST's are heavily discounted then yes I'll maybe renew as for the ££'s I've put into the super draw or Blades revival as it once was they can phuck right off my DD will be cancelled ASAP.:mad::mad:

I’ll be at most home games but I’ll cut back I don’t feel the board or manager are giving 100% so I wont.
It’s not that I don’t love sheff utd but watching some of that long ball and lack of wingers is so depressing I don’t think I can handle much more.
Reminds me visiting a sick relative in hospital you love them you want them to get better but you can't stomach to see them like that.

Did that, and got the responses, assurances and actions which made me come back after my hissy fit v Burnley. I'll no doubt protest about having to bloody go again, and no doubt I'll have another season ticket :D

I really enjoy watching non-league football. It's not about the match; it's about everything else. The football itself is usually pretty shocking, but then what do you expect when it's Club v Glapwell?

The lower the expectation, the higher the humour and cynicism. Seeing as I can't get to many away matches at all due to having fathered a tribe, I try and get to see Club when United's not at home.

Not having that monkey of expectation on your back (and decent beer!) makes for a much different atmosphere. This season though, the home matches have clashed a bit ......

Mr McCabe in my opinion choose his words better.

In recent times, aye, I have to agree with you BB. I'd still rather King Kev I than Brealey/Woolhouse/Hinchliffe et al any day ......

If I could I would, but will have to make do with going to one or two games a year which will cost me more than the price of a season ticket.

And you sir, deserve a gong the size of a frying pan for doing it.

The only reason I have a season ticket is because I can. When I was in the pub trade and working mega-hours every week, including most weekends and nights, it was a luxury for me to go to any match. I used holidays, shift swapping and favours to get to watch United. Now I don't work stupid hours I only miss home games when I'm on holiday.
Not renew? I might as well stop breathing.

If you're only going to support a club that wins lots then go and watch Man Utd.

I've seen the Blades when they were properly shit, not top-six-in-the-playoffs-and-not-skint "shit".
