Well for the first time in many many years we will not be involved in any excitement from the first day to the last day of the season and beyond. Whether it be automatic promotion, playoffs, cup semi finals or relegation we are normally involved in something, I can not remember the last time we had nothing to play for by mid April. Yes mathematically we can make the playoffs but we all know it is not happening, I think the players gave up not long after christmas as they knew this year was not going to be the year. I find it really boring with nothing to discuss about games coming up, so what would it feel like to have this every season? this must be what being a Coventry fan is like as from 2001 to now they have had one relegation.

I for one can not wait for next season just because at least we have something to go at, signings, the league taking shape etc etc it gets to now with nothing to play for and its just a big yawn.

at least last years pre season, we had the Desso pitch updates, what we got to look forward to this pre season...................er ..............help.

Kev & The Prince doing their version of the Warburtons Muppet Advert.

It's time to spend some money, it's time to sign Ian Wright, he fits our age profile on the Muppet Show Tonight.

Personally, I'm fuckin dreading next season, could be pretty horrific.

Signing players you would only know if you'd picked a really shit team on Football Manager probably ;)

If you're referring to the likes of Deano and Sir Bob, I'd have no problem with that. Those were the days :)
Yeah. I just don't get carried away with signings anymore. It seems that the ones you get excited about often fail to live up to expectations and ones you've never heard of end up being decent. Not always, obviously, but you can never be sure how it's going to turn out until they've played half a season (sometimes longer).

Are we supposed to get excited then or can we start before? surely NA will have assembled his squad to smash this league

Oh we can get excited now. Disappointment usually kicks A few weeks later so make the most of it :)

Northampton and (possibly) Accrington away! :(

Hopefully Accrington (new ground to tick off),That's all to get excited about when looking at the fixtures these days, a few new grounds and planning days out.

Yes,a bit depressing isn't it...anyone posting about hoping we avoid the play off's by staying down,or not going to Wembley if we get there because of our crap record, can fuck right off...I'd give GreasyChipBeattie's right arm to be in the play off's.

I think there's plenty correct in that. There are so many intangibles when you buy a player. To give one example, I know a few Blackpool fans and to a man they think Andy Reid is the Anti-Christ. Whereas based on his spell with us I'd have definitely signed him. Football is littered with such examples.

I'm liking the 3-5-2 formation, we've got a few players out of contract, Adkins has offloaded the likes of Higdon, Collins, Alcock plus other deadwood he was left with, we need some big, horrible and physical players bought to cover CB and CM plus a nippy cm to bring something to the midfield (I still think Scougall could do the job) and we'll look a much better balanced side than this season.

Too little too late or too much too early, our fans need to give Adkins time and he'll come good.

True but even if by some miracle we made it in, it would now mean we would almost certainly need to win 8 games in a row to go up.
